Steppe Sweeper 22
Holy shit. Got this 10 lb. book today and have been glued to it since. A lot of money for a book, but this time worth it. The one and only complaint, is nothing on Saiga conversions."also available in 12, 20 and .410", and that's it. Kind of a slap in the face to all of us and our area of Kalashnikov history. Yet seemed to have very recent Arsenal models detailed thoroughly. Also nothing about the current and mysterious Chinese service round...yet. It will take a while to go thru this one. Off my own OP topic but how can I obtain a fifth of Kalashnikov vodka? When I complete the S-12 conversion will want to crack a bottle of it, not this Five 0' Clock hobo shit Enormous reccomendation for this book, it's the encyclopedia. bigcec1 72
Like this stuff? sadly you would have to go over there and drink it if you just want the bottle it would cost you a pretty penny cause some one has to buy it dispose of the vodka then ship it
diamondback 56
Bear in mind, IIRC, Nick & Frank are primarily Thompson guys--but they're pretty cool, you might leave 'em some constructive feedback over at MachineGunBoards.com. Maybe they just weren't aware of our side?
Steppe Sweeper 22
Damn, I figured it would just take a call from a liquor store to some US distributor. Another item to the list of hard/impossible to get stuff from Russia. I even named my son after Aleksander Emilianenko. Maybe they just weren't aware of our side? Well they covered some Krebs builds and with that level of research...IDK. They get into SVDs, derivitives, everything but one of the most interesting AK types, the 11 year old Saiga shotguns. (Also-was looking for info on some of the Belarus RDS, didn't see anything, don't matter cause it turned me on to the Kobra reflex instead) Wouldn't surprise me though if they weren't aware. The Saiga has kind of like a secret subculture away from the rest of the shooting public. IDK what the cause is, but think few have any idea about the aftermarket unless they own a S-12. Then again from reading another forum, looks like everyone who panic bought a M4gery last year has their eye on a S-12 now This book deserves a proper review, a couple other books and dvds too. I need to get my shit together and make a blog of quality reviews for some of these. I'll definately attempt to contact the author and check that site out (funny, I've had a couple random TSMG questions for an expert for a while now, maybe I can find out) Again, very worthwhile book, beautiful Kalashniporn and all the info you could want. 80 million does not seem far fetched when you see the staggering variety of models from each country, some I guarantee will be new to you. Jpanzer 1,265
The book rocks. Had it for a while now, find myself pulling it out just to browse, and learn something new every time...
volkov 318
wierd.. I've seen those in a beverage warehouse in columbia before.. Didn't look into it enough but that would suck if it didn't have the proper vodka in it
