Shotty091 6
I stumbled upon a European site while searching for a russian red dot sight. It mentions late model S12's being manufactured by Izhmash with an auto BHO made standard. It is also mentioned that upgrade kits will also be available for converting earlier S12's over to the auto bho. The announcement on the site reads... ANNOUNCEMENT: From now on ALL Saiga-12 shotguns will have a factory-built LAST ROUND bolt stop mechanism (Spetsnaz-2 available from 10th April / Hunter, Spetsnaz 1 & SWAT from May). If you wish to pre-pay, we are offering two free 8-round magazines on top of those two included in the package.. For those of our customers who purchased shotguns in the past, we'll have a 'DIY' conversion kits (no earlier then May), which can be installed by FSU for a small charge. If you purchased Saiga-12 from one of our dealers - please contact them directly to have your shotgun upgraded.. That would be pretty awesome if it is true. Has anyone heard anything like this? Here is the link to the website http://www.rusmilitary.com/html/firearms_saiga12.htm
shades_of_grey 1,092
Don't get your hopes up yet. Afaik, these won't be available in the US. Too bad, so sad. Personally, since having my bolt relieved to easily allow full mag installation on a closed bolt, I don't really care if a LRBHO ever becomes available or not. If it does, I'll probably get one, but if not.... it doesn't really matter. ymmv. Edited April 17, 2010 by post-apocalyptic
Shotty091 6
Oh believe me I have learned not to get my hopes up about anything saiga related. It would be nice if one could get one of the DIY ABHO kits that is mentioned. I wonder why it takes so long for things in other countries to rotate over to the US? Anyway, I damn sure wont be buying anything from Europe. Don't get your hopes up yet. Afaik, these won't be available in the US. Too bad, so sad. billyjoebob 10
I would bet that once this kit is released overseas, it will make it into the hands of some of our more talented developers. Then, it's just a matter of time before we're going to get an american made kit based on the original.
jasecloud4 2
Agreed. However, a few of the more impatient folk out there will probably find a way to get a hold of the European one.

Further a LRBHO is no cure for tactical reload (before the gun is dry). A shaved bolt or magwell and a LRBO/release are not superfluous or redundant they are complimentary and address different issues.
africamagical 5
it would be nice if the combloc weapons caught up to the rest of the industry
