msrdiver 42
The "high brass" Remington shells are about 1/3 the length in brass but are low recoil! The medium brass FIOCCHI shells are about 26% brass but very low power at 1150fps! Winchester made/makes 8mm shiny metal 9 pellet OO 1200fps shells that look like skeet shells. FWIW: I've been told, twice, that "High Brass" in regards to 12 gauge shells now means 2 3/4 magnum(s) and 3 inch shells. This is due to the high strength of modern plastics. I think high brass should mean just about anything I'd be interested in reloading (lol). Use your favorite/favourite converter site or just enjoy the information. "Brass" may actually be brass plated steel. Steel maybe too hard for some extractors so softer brass is plated for better extraction. I suspect brass plating also helps sell the product as many consumers expect to see brass on a shell. MD-20 Owners: 60.0mm = 2.36" 60.5mm = 2.38" 61.0mm = 2.40" (suggested length for cycling) 61.5mm = 2.42" 6.20mm = 2.44" I've tried all of the ammo below in the drum with the exception of the DDPLEKS and Sellier & Bellot rounds. Both rounds were far too long. Before I state my results I'll retest the ammo for cycling when it comes back from Cadiz GW. My gun has 3 different sized ports. I will say the Remington 8-OO had the tightest pattern but the Saiga worked like a bolt action gun. msrdiver 42
How the heck do I get everything to align properly? It looks good in the editor but is out of sorts after posting!
hobbyshooter 59
My gun has 3 different sized ports. I will say the Remington 8-OO had the tightest pattern but the Saiga worked like a bolt action gun. I had the same result with Remington Express 1 buck through the MD drum in my 4 hole S12. The drum is now loaded with Estate 00 Buck (I bought a bulk pack of that with a pack of estate 4 buck from cbelas last month) but I haven't had a chance to function check it. msrdiver 42
I purchased a box of 4B and OO at Cabelas and await the return of my gun to test fire them. I know the magazine will work. It is how they function in the drum that interests me. Any luck shooting Estates thru your gun yet?
