aagalkin 1
For those who cut the shroud off and found threads, what size were they? EDIT From what I could gather, AK 74 has 24x1 factory. But some people are finding 14x1 on their barrels? Edited July 14, 2010 by The Russki
Klassy Kalashnikov 1,393
From what I have seen, not a single person has found 14x1 threads on a 5.45. Like you said, since they use the 24mm blocks there is no reason a 5.45 barrel would have threads. The 7.62s use 14x1 threads and sometimes military barrels make their way onto the civilian lines is why people find threads on them. Not an issue really, as the 24mm devices are much better than the 14x1 devices anyway.

aagalkin 1
Well then, I guess it's time to cut the shroud off and hope for the best. If nothing's there I'll probably end up getting the FSB. Thanks for the input!
VanKiller 322
I've been happiest using 1/2 x 28 threads and putting my AR accessories on the 5.45.
