aekdbbop 5
Ok, got my bullet guide installed.. I need to know my options. If I want to be able to use my 10rd factory mag and surplus mags.. what modification needs to be made... Now, my factory mag does not fit with the guide installed.. So what are my options.. I would rather do something once and not have to do something to each magazine I buy in the future.

You need to remove that, take a file or a dremel, and take that down about 1/2 inch or so to get it out of the way. There is a thread about that somewhere in this forum, with diagrams and everything...then, you can use the modified saiga mags, AND any aftermarket or Mil-spec AK mag out there. You will not have to modify the mil mags in any way, but the built-in bullet guide on the stock mags, (that bump) gets in the way once you install a bullet guide. uzitiger 193
I used my Dremel to allow my Saiga to use both factory and AK magazines. If I had to do it again, I would remove the bump in front of the magazine instead.
aekdbbop 5
So remove that numb on the factory mag, then the surplus mags will fit without any other mods? Thought I read something about filling down the mag release or something.

Second, look at the front of your saiga mag and the front of the milsurp mag. Make the front of the saiga mag look the same. Third, profit.
paprotective 362
Take a little off the center.. Factory mag on left ... combloc type on right.. File the mag catch a little bit.. just till the combloc clicks in.. both factory and combloc shoud then lock in.. Factory mag may have a HAIR of play with no worries.. You may want to file lightly (aka bevel) the leading edge of the guide to aide in breakin also..
