Who sells saiga 12 dust covers??

Recommended Posts

I don't believe anyone sells extra dust covers. On the bright side, all you need is a regular AK dust cover and you can widen the opening to the dimensions of the S-12 top cover.

Thanks for the info. This has my gears turning on a project.

Any idea on a retailer?

K-Var is a business member here and has the Bulgarian milled top cover you'd need.

I'm not sure if dust covers for milled/stamped are interchangeable or not. Just to be safe go with a stamped top cover IMO:

It's got the ribs on it too which looks pretty cool anyway.

Milled gun top covers are .034" thick and smooth like Saiga 12 covers. Stamped receiver AKM covers are .024" thick and have ribbed reinforcements. Yugoslav covers are too short. Sure you could use a AKM top cover but you'd be cutting into the reinforcements and it would not look like a Saiga cover.

Awesome, thanks a lot for the info. Yeah then definitely go with the milled one!
