YOT 3,743
Is the S12 receiver milled or stamped and what difference would that make?
Eric Pate 478
Stamped. Its way lighter than milled and plenty strong.
Spartacus 1,619
Milled gives strength and accuracy. Desirable features on a rifle, but kind of pointless on a scattergun. I believe the S-12 receiver is thicker than a standard AK receiver though to tolerate 12G abuse.
jasecloud4 2
The S12 is stamped. Pretty good material too...
wired 27
Depends what you want to call the receiver. The ATF put out a goofy opinion letter a few years ago saying the trunnion is actually receiver on saiga 12 shotguns. I know. That doesnt make any sense but its the basis of the parts count for 922r purposes on the Saiga shotgun. Of course an opinion letter only applies to the guy who sent in the letter and its asinine to base an entire industry standard on one guys opinion letter but that's where we're at today.
