paprotective 362
So I'm buying back my 28" NEF/H&R Pardner Pump for $100 from a friend.. (Rem 870 Clone..) I want to 'cut' it to 20" (I think) and use it for home defense / possible hunting.. It has a VENTED looking barrel.. and is 'choked'.. (Horrible cell pic from last year before I sold it..) Any tips on how to do this correctly.. (yet at home)??? Al

paprotective 362
Well I got the shotgun back in hand.. Here it is all torn apart.. (aka wood removed) Just ordered the Hogue 870 Tamer Pistol Grip and Handguard/Forend $40 shipped.. Going to cut down to 20" on Sunday using the 'Dremel' and file way.. I figure at 20" I can still add a +2 magazine extension tube.. Al
paprotective 362
So I cut off 6 1/2" and left 21 1/2".. overall length is just at 28 1/2" to the rear of the receiver also.. Cut with dremel and reinforced fiberglass cutting wheel.. Painted with our favorite engine ceramic FORD BLACK paint.. Saved the front site POST/BALL and will drill and tap later on the VENT and remount.. Waiting on the HOGUE pistol grip and forend set.. Al
paprotective 362
Here she is minus the Hogue pistol grip and forend/pump.. This leaves me some room also for +2 or +3 extension tube... Overall VERY happy.. Now I need a single-point sling setup.. Al
6500rpm 670
If you ever want to choke it again, Carlson's Choke Tubes can thread your barrel, comes with your choice of 3 chokes and a tube tool for about $130. Turn around time is usually less than a week (last one the did for me I mailed on Sat, they had on Mon, back at my house on Thurs).
