Failzero coating

Recommended Posts

Relatively new application for firearms but if you know what I'm talking about, has anyone here gotten their Saiga "failzeroed" yet?

It would only appeal to me if the price was rea$onable, seems it would be better applied to an AR than an AK only with the exception of the 5.45 because of the surplus ammo. You $till have to paint over it too (unless you want a shiny nickel colored rifle).

Rifle Dynamics will put the fail zero coating on anything AFAIK.

Plenty of pictures of new AK builds they've done where the entire barrel and receiver assembly is fail zero coated.

Don't know if it will help with corrosive ammo much though. Sure for the bolt face which should be thoroughly cleaned after corrosive ammo. You aren't going to coat the barrel and inside of the GB though. So it's not going to help you there...

A chrome bolt still needs lube. The nickel boron can run completely dry. And carbon doesn't stick to it as much.

Dry surface + hard to stick to surface = a lot less crap inside an AR.

For an AK it just looks like a really really tough external finish.

I agree in terms of the AK internals. Don't see much gain over a stock finish.

If you're planning on refinishing regardless then might as well do it.
