Most are made of plastic and are made to blow apart if used on a real firearm, most are just a barrel extension. The old airsoft silencers had metal baffles in them and would actually function on a .22. Those are illegal here. Edit: Figured I'd confirm it. Madbull makes two versions, one with baffles for domestic sale and one with without for the US market. Meh, I like GBBs, gives you something to shoot when you don't have time for the range.
