i just found out that my converted saiga has no axis pin retainers of any kind. wtf? i know that the plates are the best but in the short run i wanna use e-clips. does any one know what size i need and where do i put them on? pleas help

The FCG Plates are way easier to take on and off. I would use that instead of the E-Clips. I have no knowledge of the E-Clips personally, but they should fit into the indent of the axis pin just like the FCG Plate. I don't know what size, I only know that Dinzag sells them.

You would need 3/16" clips.

But i would use something else, like a plate or or sheperds crook. Something that takes no tools too install/remove and something that is less likely to fall off in normal use. Like you said, keep the e-clips use temporary.

Have used e-clips multiple times without any problems. Be sure you get the correct size, as stated, and that they are fully seated. If there is a third/middle dog ear opposite the opening of the clip consider dremeling it down just a hair so the clip is definitely fully seated. They can be pulled off with a small screwdriver or a dental pick if the axis pins need to be removed. The retainer plates are great too, but you can get a hundred e-clips for a few bucks.
