Recoil Buffer on Saiga .308

All you have to do is slip it over your existing spring then reassemble. Just remember....flat goes to flat..... :blues:

When using my buffers on Saigas with the spacer it really doesn't matter which way it is installed, if it is installed on a spring assembly without the metal spacer then the ramped side of the buffer must go toward the rear of the gun so the ramp of the buffer will mate up with the ramp of the spring base.

The S-308 has a spacer at the end of the recoil guide rod, which, in combination with the recoil buffer, will cause the S-308 to have feeding/extraction problems. The problem is because the spacer prevents the recoil buffer from fitting flush with the recoil guide rod. Therefore, the bolt carrier will have less distance to travel back before going forward again.

The way I fixed mine was, I shaved off the back of the recoil buffer so that it fits flush with the guide rod *AND* the spacer. I probably lost some of the benefits of the buffer, but I didn't have to change out the guide rod.

It appears to be that S-308 uses the same guide rod as a S-7.62x39, but I am not sure. Anybody can testify to that?

all you have to do is remove the little rivet that holds the limiter on the rod.

just drill it on one side and it will slide right out.

if you want to put it back on i'm sure lowes has a pin that would fit it.

took about 30 seconds to do and no permanent alterations were made.
