chapperjoe 0
the vepr 223 mags look like they will... Edited February 17, 2004 by chapperjoe
Onepoint 0
They may, but it looks like you will still have to add the feed ramp to get it to feed, it has the angled front lip like the other AK mags.
KySoldier 2
I think you might have found something there!
Tyr 0
those are ak74 mags with .223 fallowers and modified feed rails for the price you might as well get weiger .223 mags.
chapperjoe 0
the question is, do weiger's work without modifying the rifle?????
Sheik Yerbouti 0
the question is, do weiger's work without modifying the rifle????? Yes, but you have to modify the Weigers.
chapperjoe 0
oh how how how how how how how how how how how how how how how how how how how how how how? [And don't worry, I am not doing anything illegal. I got a non-official word from an ATF guy that I can mod them and put a block in to only accept 10 rounds. NON_OFFICIAL!!!! No one can say 'but i heard from chapperjoe'. My problem is the price of the saiga mags, not their capacity.]
Sheik Yerbouti 0
You have to lower the front of the Weiger mag lips to match the profile of your original mag, then you have to modify the catch lip at the rear on three surfaces. You can read about how to do it on my Saiga web page on the page for Step 10. I you do not want to install a bullet guide, I recommend you get a good pair of calipers and be as accurate as possible with your modifications. Or you can look for some Galil mags (30-round steel, 35-round plastic, or 50-round steel). They fit pretty much without any mods whatsoever. The 50-rounders are currently available in used but good condition for $20.

Sheik Yerbouti 0
They do in mine. I'll be testing the 50s this weekend an will let you know how reliable they are.
