Sending one of my Saiga 12s off to be sexy'd up

KC,

I'm trying to get an idea how the length of your Arsenal stock compares with my K-Var Warsaw.

Do you know the approx length from the middle of the butt plate to the back of your receiver? thanks!

Warsaw is approximately 9 1/4". Nato is approximately 10 1/2". The 100 series folders are Warsaw length.

Here's to waiting...     Can't wait to see your build.

Always some bullshit for the law abiding citizen to compete with. Criminals are treated better than we are and catered to much more often.

Mine has three ports. Runs all the normal stuff just fine. No excess fouling.

When I was doing my prototype, I could'nt get it to run w/ 3 or 4 ports. took 5 of them to get it reliable. Then went to 6 to get smaller ports. Never really got any excessive fouling.

The gun originally came w/ 3 ports, I chopped the bbl down to 16" just to see how it reacted, and it wouldn't strip one round. I can't remember for sure, it has been so long ago, but I don't think the bolt was going back far enough to even pull the spent shell out of the chamber.

Right on. I don't have all the technical data on the port sizes...Red Jacket does. All I know is that there are three and it runs without excess wad build-up in the gas chamber. :super:

Called ATF NFA branch this morning about my form 1. They said it just got processed May 10th. I mailed it 2 months ago. I was also told it would be another 4 months until I would receive it back. Not very happy right now. :ded:

Spoke with ATF this morning and got my examiner's name. Dana Pickles. Judging by the times on NFATracker.com she is pretty on top of things, time-wise. From what I see, forms usually go from pending to received within a month or so with her. Hopefully it's the same with mine. :super:

I actually spoke with him a while back and told him to hold off installing the front latch until I received the Izhmash recoil pad from Oleg, so everything would be lined up correctly and I wouldn't have to modify anything after adding it. I sent the recoil pad to him a few weeks ago, so assuming he had my Saiga 12 set to the side to finish the build when he received the pad, it should be complete or just about complete. I told him I would let him know when my form 1 came back. I don't like to email and call on a weekly basis to check the status. I know how annoying that can get. I emailed him earlier after speaking with the ATF to check the status of the build since the form should be here any time. Waiting for a reply.

I haven't asked yet. I told him I would get back to him when my form 1 was back. According to NFATracker.com, the examiner who is doing my application takes around a month to a month and a half to go from pending to received. Still waiting.

Build is ready, but form 1 still pending as of last week. As much as I've called, I'm surprised the woman on the phone hasen't memorized my serial number. :lolol:

Haven't had much internet time. I received my form 1 back a couple of days ago with no stamp. It came with a letter from my examiner stating that he needs proof that the sergeant who signed off on my form 1 is authorized to sign on behalf of the Sheriff. I called the sergeant and he said he has been signing NFA applications for a couple of years and has never had a problem. Now I have to wait for the Sheriff to sign a letter and fax it to the examiner. The examiner said once he receives the letter I can send my form 1 back and it will be approved without a long hassle or wait. He said I was approved, he's just on the fence about the sergeant.

KC,

How long did the stamp take from the time you sent it out? I understand that you had a little delay last month, but other than that.... how long?

Dod you send it out in early March?

I sent it off March 2nd or 3rd. It didn't even go pending until May 10th (2 months later). The local Sheriff's office messed up the paperwork a bit by letting the wrong person sign NFA applications. My examiner just happened to catch it and now the local Sheriff's office has to change their procedure in regards to the NFA stuff after talking to the examiner. Apparently several applications have been returned with no stamp lately. This held it up by roughly 2 weeks. So, a little over 5 and a half months from the day I sent it off. It was approved 3 and a half months after it went pending.

Tax dollars at work, lol. Let's hope they fight crime around there better than they process paperwork ;)

I'm thinking a rear sight block mod is next on the list for it. :super:

Rifle Dynamics has it at the moment. I hope to have it back In the next month or two.

Nice. Be sure and post pics. :)

I took a few minutes tonight and filed the front lug a couple MD-20's for the SBS. The latch gets in the way of the drum fully locking in, which is why the front lug on the factory mags curves the way it does. I still need to take a fine sanding block and clean it up so it's not so rough looking.

No way! Good job man. Ill have to do the same to my drums when I get it back and now ill know what to do.:super: I forsure post up some pics. I have a few different setups for it. I have the OEM wood for arm that Im going to put on it when I get it back and for a more tactial look, I bought the kvar handguard/rail combo set when it was on sale. I like having different setups being I tend to get bored with one look after too long. I must say though, your's gives me something to look forward to. Thats just bitch'n KC, very nice!!!!
