sunnybean 939
KC, I'm trying to get an idea how the length of your Arsenal stock compares with my K-Var Warsaw. Do you know the approx length from the middle of the butt plate to the back of your receiver? thanks! Warsaw is approximately 9 1/4". Nato is approximately 10 1/2". The 100 series folders are Warsaw length.
csmw 98
Mine has three ports. Runs all the normal stuff just fine. No excess fouling.
sunnybean 939
Mine has three ports. Runs all the normal stuff just fine. No excess fouling. When I was doing my prototype, I could'nt get it to run w/ 3 or 4 ports. took 5 of them to get it reliable. Then went to 6 to get smaller ports. Never really got any excessive fouling. The gun originally came w/ 3 ports, I chopped the bbl down to 16" just to see how it reacted, and it wouldn't strip one round. I can't remember for sure, it has been so long ago, but I don't think the bolt was going back far enough to even pull the spent shell out of the chamber. Right on. I don't have all the technical data on the port sizes...Red Jacket does. All I know is that there are three and it runs without excess wad build-up in the gas chamber. KC913 324
Ordered the Izhmash recoil pad and pistol grip from Oleg. Just waiting on my form 1 to be approved.
KC913 324
Called ATF NFA branch this morning about my form 1. They said it just got processed May 10th. I mailed it 2 months ago. I was also told it would be another 4 months until I would receive it back. Not very happy right now.
KC913 324
Spoke with ATF this morning and got my examiner's name. Dana Pickles. Judging by the times on NFATracker.com she is pretty on top of things, time-wise. From what I see, forms usually go from pending to received within a month or so with her. Hopefully it's the same with mine.
menace667 194
Any word on the status of your build? I know you cant get it till the form is approved and all, but is it ready to ship now at least?
KC913 324
I actually spoke with him a while back and told him to hold off installing the front latch until I received the Izhmash recoil pad from Oleg, so everything would be lined up correctly and I wouldn't have to modify anything after adding it. I sent the recoil pad to him a few weeks ago, so assuming he had my Saiga 12 set to the side to finish the build when he received the pad, it should be complete or just about complete. I told him I would let him know when my form 1 came back. I don't like to email and call on a weekly basis to check the status. I know how annoying that can get. I emailed him earlier after speaking with the ATF to check the status of the build since the form should be here any time. Waiting for a reply.

KC913 324
I haven't asked yet. I told him I would get back to him when my form 1 was back. According to NFATracker.com, the examiner who is doing my application takes around a month to a month and a half to go from pending to received. Still waiting.

KC913 324
Build is ready, but form 1 still pending as of last week. As much as I've called, I'm surprised the woman on the phone hasen't memorized my serial number. Edited August 1, 2011 by KC913
KC913 324
Haven't had much internet time. I received my form 1 back a couple of days ago with no stamp. It came with a letter from my examiner stating that he needs proof that the sergeant who signed off on my form 1 is authorized to sign on behalf of the Sheriff. I called the sergeant and he said he has been signing NFA applications for a couple of years and has never had a problem. Now I have to wait for the Sheriff to sign a letter and fax it to the examiner. The examiner said once he receives the letter I can send my form 1 back and it will be approved without a long hassle or wait. He said I was approved, he's just on the fence about the sergeant. evlblkwpnz 3,418
Always some bullshit for the law abiding citizen to compete with. Criminals are treated better than we are and catered to much more often.

evlblkwpnz 3,418
KC, How long did the stamp take from the time you sent it out? I understand that you had a little delay last month, but other than that.... how long? Dod you send it out in early March? sleepersilverado 3
errr. My Form 4 has been sitting on my coffee table, going on its third week. I am one step closer though, I brought it to work today.

I understand that you had a little delay last month, but other than that.... how long? Dod you send it out in early March? I sent it off March 2nd or 3rd. It didn't even go pending until May 10th (2 months later). The local Sheriff's office messed up the paperwork a bit by letting the wrong person sign NFA applications. My examiner just happened to catch it and now the local Sheriff's office has to change their procedure in regards to the NFA stuff after talking to the examiner. Apparently several applications have been returned with no stamp lately. This held it up by roughly 2 weeks. So, a little over 5 and a half months from the day I sent it off. It was approved 3 and a half months after it went pending.

KC913 324
Here are a couple quick pics. Lighting isn't the best in here right now. Will get lots of gun porn tomorrow. All unused holes have been welded up. The RAA import stamp at the rear of the receiver is also gone. All smooth. I'm thinking a rear sight block mod is next on the list for it. TwentyNizzo 66
I LOVE it man! Looks like a 12" barrel. Only changes I would make is an Authentic Izzy grip and change the handguard to the Russian tactical. I plan to do the same with an S-12, non-magwell. I'm also planning to cut my Magwell S12 down to 11". Again, awesome S-12! I'm jealous.
KC913 324
Thanks. Yeah, 12.5" barrel. I plan to pick up an Izzy grip from Oleg. I'm going to endup with standard AK handguards and rear sight block eventually so it looks all proper and sexy(er).

Be sure and post pics. I took a few minutes tonight and filed the front lug a couple MD-20's for the SBS. The latch gets in the way of the drum fully locking in, which is why the front lug on the factory mags curves the way it does. I still need to take a fine sanding block and clean it up so it's not so rough looking.

I forsure post up some pics. I have a few different setups for it. I have the OEM wood for arm that Im going to put on it when I get it back and for a more tactial look, I bought the kvar handguard/rail combo set when it was on sale. I like having different setups being I tend to get bored with one look after too long. I must say though, your's gives me something to look forward to. Thats just bitch'n KC, very nice!!!!
