deploy 0
I have been reading up on the topic as a few of my friends have gouged the inside of their barrels with slugs and non traditional ammo. At the moment, a wrecked barrel for a Saiga 12 is a wrecked gun since replacement barrels are not available and replacement of one is not a DIY project. I stumbled across this from Kings Armory. http://www.kingarmory.com/My_Homepage_Files/Page39.html While this is great news, I have a question. If you are going to go to all the trouble to rip out the old barrel and press in a new one, would it not be possible to create some kind of threaded adapter? Could you not press in an adapter that would accept a threaded barrel, threaded on the receiver end. This way you could change out barrels at your connivance. I think this would open up the riffled barrel market. Would this be possible and would it be legal, if you unscrewed you barrel you would essentially be left with a SBS, however I doubt it would fire and frankly I would be scared to find out so hopefully it would not be viewed legally as a SBS, and viewed more as we intended as full length gun with interchangeable barrels. Gunfanatic 221
Tony made a quick change barrel S12, never took off because no one makes replacement S12 barrels. Edited February 28, 2011 by Gun Fanatic
