jmzzl 146
I was wondering if it's possible to over tighten the bolt-on front sights such as the CSS and Krebs, and bend or mis-shape the barrel. On my CSS sight, I used blue thread locker, and made sure both of the screws were snug. I made sure I didn't over tighten. The barrel is made of fairly thick steel, and I don't think you can hurt it, but I was just curious to see if anyone has had any problems with theirs.
L5K 162
I'd imagine it could be possible, but would take so much torque that you wouldn't be able to do it without a lot of leverage. That said, sounds like you did it right in my opinion. Bolts and the like almost never need to be as tight as everyone thinks. I especially love working on a car after it's been to a few mechanics who apparently have The Hulk there to tighten bolts for them...
TwentyNizzo 66
There's no way possible you could damage the barrel. The bolts will snap first. I have my Krebs cranked down as much as possible, because the sight will actually move slightly and cant due to the recoil of slugs and buckshot if it's not tight enough. gpqueen 545
The threads on the sights would strip before you hurt the barrel.
