corbin 621
Hi guys and gals After extensive "run and gun" shooting, trying to figure out the best configuration for my needs, I've decided to go with a railed HG, or at least a vertical grip. I don't normally like having what's considered AR stuff on an AK, but because of a prior injury to my right hand, I have a fused wrist and limited gripping strength. A vertical grip (while I don't like the look that much) seems most comfortable for me. To that end, I'm trying to get people's opinion on what Vert Grip capable HG provides a strong mounting platform with the least amount of weight. While heat transfer isn't as big of a concern with a VG, it's still a consideration. See the "Black Betty" rifle below: It currently looks a little different, but the conceptual drawing is what I'm aiming for: So.......thoughts?
FAULTLINE 1
The best IMHO is the Ultimak tri rail. It fits many different models of Aks including the saiga 308 if you add (2) 10-32 X 3/4 screws in place of the factory ones on the rear barrel clamp. The Midwest industries rail is good to go as well.
MrSaiga223 1
I like the Midwest Industries rail with the MI/US Palm red dot specific top cover. Here is the ad for it:
