thinking 1
Well To me it seems there is another contender in the ring. Althought it currently seems overpriced, it is a very attractive 223. Anyone been able to compare them? Accuracy? Reliability? Ability to fold in half? (ok that one is not fair) Cost? so far the Kel-tec is 2x more Other comments? Thanks
Sheik Yerbouti 0
Hmmm. Interesting concept. There are distinct advantages that the Kel-tec has over the Saiga: - Ability to use M16 mags - Folding feature for compact storage - Integral bipod The advantages the Saiga has: - Cheap - Simple - Standard sights never move in relation to each other I guess it's personal preference and wallet. I like the fact that Kel-tec stayed away from the direct gas impinging system of the M16, and I wonder if they use the M16 bolt in their design.
thinking 1
Here is a link if anyone has not heard of the SU-16. I have held one. They are very light. The big use of polymer components has me worried about accuracy and overall rigitity of the rifle. http://www.kel-tec.com/su-16_rifle.htm
Onepoint 0
I have held them a couple times, it sure seems like too much plastic on it to me. I have no problem with polymer guns, but the Kel-tec just felt cheesey. I didn't care for the sights on the Kel tec either, kind of fat, though they are fire sight type. WhileI didn't like the stock sights on the Saiga either, they are a lot easier to change than on the SU-16. If they were the same money, maybe but over priced for what they are IMO.
