Carolina SS trigger guard and Hogue grip. Do I have to do something to

Recommended Posts

As far as I have read on the houge grip you will have to remove some material from it so it will align.

That's what I was thinking. Shave down the area that butts up to the rear of the trigger guard so the grip slides over the guard some more allowing the hole to line up. I didn't want to hack up my grip before you guys help me confirm.

I just installed these on my S12 a few days ago. I searched the forum for suggestions, but there didn't seem to be a consensus. So I shot an email to Greg. He replied most people make the mounting hole oblong (it isn't by much - do a little with a 3/16" bit and check the fit). I didn't really want to grind out the front of the grip where it contacts the guard, and "fixing" the mounting hole worked great. Whilst researching, I see there are other grips for sale that come with oblong holes, so that made the most sense to me. So far, no problems at all after dumping 100 rounds downrange this past weekend.

Can't say enough good about Greg. He's ben really responsive to every email I've sent him with questions, suggestions for various parts of my conversion. The videos are top-notch, and helped immensely. My last order was placed one morning, and sitting on my doorstep the next afternoon. Greg - if you're reading... rock on brother!

Well I decided to forgo sleep tonight and got it done, shaving a bit off the front of the grip where it meets the trigger guard.

Now I'm just wondering why my stock is cock-eyed.... is this because people typically use a folder?
