Lone Star Arms 2,047
Has anybody done this? If so, was it successful? Thank you in advance. The amount of heat required to high temp silver solder a bullet guide to your front trunnion would anneal the trunnion, and everthing around it. Your trunnion, and receiver come with a factory temper. Once this is gone, it's gone forever. Follow the bullet guide manufacturers instructions! Good luck. Fallschirmjager667 729
why, drilling and tapping is easy, it would be a pain in the ass to try to solder it
JohnNicholasM 7
What he said. It would be A LOT easier to drill and tap the trunnion to mount the BG than to silver solder it on. Think about the amount of heat required to heat the trunnion plus that massive heat-sink BARREL and RECEIVER. Oh you could do it, all right, but it would ruin the rifle. There is very little force exerted on the bullet guide. That little screw will hold it just fine. John
