ViciousOutlaw 0
I had my local smith install a new gas block so I could use a bayonet. He did it wrong. Is this going to cycle? Its a Saiga 545. Thanks, VO
LtDan 4
Strip it down, take off the brake, put your finger over the breech hole and blow into the muzzle. If you feel/hear air blowing into the gas block it will probably cycle. If you can't blow through with finger on breech you have a single shot rifle, it won't cycle. Mullet Man 2,114
AK's are pretty overgassed from the get go. Only one real way to find out if its gonna work right? BTW, why did you need a new gas block to use/install a bayonet?
ViciousOutlaw 0
I feel air. But won't too much gas escape out of the gas block vents?
psl sniper 963
you should be fine, ive seen worse that cycle. the gas tube acts more as a guide anyways ive seen a demo where a guy actually cut back a tube so there was a gap between it and the block just to show it still functions.

LtDan 4
I feel air. But won't too much gas escape out of the gas block vents? All the gas pressure take place in the gas block, the tube acts as a guide . Some tubes have 4 holes drilled on each side going back from the gas block
