RedDevilGuns 25
Not that I don't love black. I find it incredibly boring. SOOO to have something todo AND just because it's cool I'd like to paint mine a nice shade of Red. So my question for the zoo is. What's the best DIY way of doing it? Should i go with some sandpaper and primer? or is there a better way? And yes this includes ALL metal pieces.
G O B 3,516
Go to Brownell's or a similar site - many gun coatings are starting to come in colors. Ceramic auto engine paint baked on should work too. Sounds like fun -NOT another EBR, an ERR?
mancat 2,368
Duplicolor ceramic engine enamel is a commonly recommended spray for AKs, especially when baked on as GOB mentioned. Many colors are available. Shuck's/O'Reilly seems to be the most reliable as far as in stock and selection. http://www.duplicolor.com/products/enginePaint/

Just realize that any color that is not black, maybe semi-gloss or high gloss. Flat might have to be ordered. The nice part about it though, is you can shop for it at autozone. DE1653 Red if you want it red and shiny.
mancat 2,368
Autozone seems to have replaced the Duplicolor engine enamel line with Rustoleum in every store I visited. Not too impressed with it.
Dad2142Dad 6,559
They still have it here in SC, but stuff is getting slim everywhere. Went to get a tap the other day at Lowes. They quit carrying them at the local store, WTF?
