Another trigger question??

Recommended Posts

I just purchased a Saiga 7.62 x 39 with the thumbhole stock and longer barrel...I am in the process of researching and gathering parts to make it compliant...My Saiga has a "bolt-stop spring"... I found this pic on the forum that shows the spring... It is the spring on the bottom of pic.. I can not find any videos or tutorials that show or make reference to this spring and it being installed with new FCG's... I do NOT have the BHO lever.. It appears to me that this would not allow the use of the Sheperds Crook or retaining plate.. Has anyone installed a new FCG in a rifle that has this set up? If so what did you use?

Thanks!!!

Interesting set up. That lower spring stumps me, but I'm no expert. I have done a conversion on a 7.62x39 Saiga, but I don't remember anything like that.

Is your rifle a EAA Pap by chance, and not a Saiga? like this:

Hopefully some one here will offer you some help.

That spring is a factory spring that holds the trigger pin and hammer pin in.

You will need to pull up on the front of the spring to get the hammer pin put.

That rifle has been converted,.

How about a profile pic?

After you get the hammer pin out, push down on that spring to pull the trigger pin.

ETA: Pic from both sides.

The more I look at it I may just keep the spring if it is just holding the pins... It seems to be doing a good job and does not look that hard to put back in... Of course I am a newbie, so let me know if that is a bad idea..

I use the factory spring on my S308 and I did a mod on one for my S12, I am a cheep SOB.

Both work great, and no money spent on things I do not need.

Now there are others that will have a problum with this and will let us know

why it is better to use an other system to hold in the pins.

What ever you use is OK by me.
