Been mess'n with it to get it up to 922R.

What is wrong with just going with the SGM 30 rounders from now on?

Rather than go through a guide install and switch to Galil mags?

Anybody see them (SGM's) wear out in a hurry or anything?

Besides the price... which generally stinks, I think they are OK?

I have five Saiga rifles, the two 223's have no bullet guides. I use strictly SGM mags and they are very dependable in the 223.

Yes, stick to the mags designed for Saigas.

 

Sucking up all the Galil mags you can just drives up the prices for those of us who actually own Galils (and other AKMs that require Galil mags).

Well, first off someone is going to tell you to post in the 223 forum so it might as well be me.

 

Secondly, you'll be told to do a search. Me again.

 

Thirdly, I'm not trying to be obnoxious at all. I'm just letting you know what is considered "correct procedure".

 

With that aside, you'll get varying opinions as to what route to go but personally I have a high opinion of SGM magazines having used them exclusively in my 223 with zero problems. I also prefer 20 rounders instead of thirty but that falls into the "varying opinions" category.

Nothing wrong with SMG, but the Circle 10 mags are nicer, a bit cheaper, and relatively easy to find. I was very glad I made the switch. The bullet guide is easy to install too.

I didn't put a guide on my 223 either. On my x39, yes, and over a dozen other Saigas for those that wanted them installed, but I just like the SMG mags, not much of a price difference, and they work great in my .223.

But, that's my own personal opinion and preference, to each his own.
