BattleRifleG3 16
Question on the S-9: I don't think we've seen ammo for it yet, are there any prospects for it to be imported?
Unknown Poster 5
I hope they bring in the other great 9,3mm rounds too the 9,3x62 and 9,3x64 are two overlooked rounds in america and they have been around since 1905. The americans have been afraid of the "MM's" for many years(thats millimeters.) Edited October 19, 2005 by Unknown Poster
dinzag 31
TG - What's available as far as shotties?? Unknown Poster 5
Question on the S-9: I don't think we've seen ammo for it yet, are there any prospects for it to be imported? I just seen the ballastics on the 9,3x53 round; 9,3x53 rimless 2,000fps/1785ft.lbs. 200gr bullet 9,3x53 rimmed 2054fps/1960ft.lbs. 200gr bullet Its within the old 35 remington ballastics. Iwas eyeing the 9,3x62 and 9,3x64 for large game hunting depending on the cost of course. I wanted something between my 338win.mag. something more powerful and something a little less powerful and i think the 9,3x62 and 9,3x64 does that. I want to take my 2 sons bear hunting too with bigger calibers. Edited October 19, 2005 by Unknown Poster
BattleRifleG3 16
Aww man, I thought it was more powerful than that. A standard AKM action can take 35 Rem.
SaigaShooter 0
Any idea how much the Bars 4-1 in 7.62 x 39 would cost? I'm the only one who seems to want a bolt action in that caliber.

The only 9.3 x 64 I've found online is the 9.3x64 Brenneke It is consistently compared to the .375 H&H in power. There are reloading links for the 9.3x64 Brenneke On the other hand, this Russian site discusses a brand new cartridge in caliber 9.3x64 mm They claim Valery Zakharyashtev - Barnaul's Technical Director - said they were planning on beginning commercial manufacture of the improved FMJ 9.3x64 mm cartridge before June 2001. Results of firing at the armored plate, 10 mm thick, range 100 meters: a compact group of 3 shots. Center-to-center 17 mm. IZHMASH has been long waiting for this cartridge and developed a series of sporting rifles: LOS-9, SAIGA-9 and TIGER-9. IZHMASH's gun engineers also devised a new version of the SVD sniper rifle, and designated it SVDK. The new sniper cartridge, which the rifle will employ, has been designated as 9SN (9-mm snayperskiy). It is going to be a powerful weapon for both Army and the SPETSNAZ units. Unknown Poster 5
You have to be aware the Russians jump between the 9,3x53, the 9,3x62 and the 9,3x64 a lot in their guns not all of then are the same. I like the 9,3x62 and the 9,3x64. The LOS-9 in 9,3x64 will fill the gap in my collection nicely for now and the bears won't like it either. Its good to blow a big hole when bear hunting. A 444 marlin will blow a hole thru 3/8" boiler plate. I have seen the 338win.mag. go thru a 15" tree at 170yds. your talking 4,000ft.lbs. @ the muzzle and 2,800 ft. lbs. @ 200yds thats the muzzle energy of a 30-06 at 200yds. The 9,3x64 brenneke is about 4,500ft.lbs. and i believe the 9,3x62 is around 3,500ft.lbs. that puts the 338win.mag in the middle thats just what i'm looking for.
