Spacehog 2,218
Well I am growing weary of all the traffic on gun control and the latest mass killings, so I thought I would create a post that brought us all back to our roots for being here in the first place. We all got into Saigas because it is the AK platform that can be transformed into whatever you want. After the first conversion, it becomes an obsession as we see what others have done, and think " That is awesome". This is my Saiga 7.62 through its life stages after conversion. Interesting enough it is evolving more into the traditional AK. I encourage you all to post the evolution of your Saigas
BigChongus 765
My 5.45 and 7.62 are twins, so they've gone through transformations together. The last two are just of my 5.45, but the 7.62 had corresponding changes as well.

StantheMan 3
Those are very nice rifles, how do you get the wood hand guard and on there? I would like to have wood on mine.
BigChongus 765
Thanks, gents. To use an AK handguard, you need to change the gas tube to an AK-74 tube and add a lower handguard retainer. You could also use an AKM tube but it will require a little bit of modification. That's actually what I have on there in the pics above.

BigChongus 765
What stain did you use? Looks awesome.
semper299 284
Thanks! I did everything on the rifle, but can't take credit for the wood. Combloc Customs did the wood in "Combloc Red". Well worth the price. http://www.combloccustoms.com/?page_id=
