menace667 194
I wandered into the S-12 forum today being nosey and saw that is in the testing phase of 8 round, US made, all metal magazines for the Saiga shotgun. Those sound like they would be so much better up in my magwell all warm and cozy as opposed into those low rent Saiga's (i am snooty because i have a VEPR)
brad cole 65
steel us vepr mags is a must
menace667 194
Yes. It would take the platform from awesome to perfect. Magazines have been a point of contention from the gate so steel US mags would make it all better. I like my SGM higher capacity mags and my factory five rounders, bu a steel 8-10 rounder would replace them pretty quickly.
gunfun 3,931
I'd expect it to come down the pike after he gets the 8's and the 10's selling for the S12. It sounds pretty expensive to get the tooling set up for each new product, and he would have to redesign the locking lugs, shape of the portion that forms the feed lips and make the whole magazine assemble differently. I looked at what it would take to make my beta CSSPECs fit in JTE magwell, and it wouldn't be a good idea. Correction. It might be fairly easy , but the steel/ aluminum interface could cause premature wear and galling on the magwell. The spine could be shaved down to clear, but maybe some meat could be welded onto it to keep it from chewing up the magwell. Edited August 30, 2013 by GunFun
hdskumm 39
I was admiring those CSSPEC's too. If they came to market for the Vepr's, I would definitely have to invest in a steel magwell.
menace667 194
I was thinking the same thing. Only plastic i would have left would be my pistol grip. That would be a beautiful thing indeed
