Maknwar 33
I don't have a saiga 7.62 carrier for comparison so ill ask you all. How much difference is there between the 12 gauge vs the 7.62 or other rifle caliber bolt carriers? Could one modify the 7.62 carrier to work on a saiga 12?
Nephilim7 107
S12 carriers are very different from other calibers. Best way to replace one is to buy one from a parted out gun or get an American made replacement from these guys: http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?/topic/79392-bolt-carriers-now-on-sale/
Maknwar 33
How different? Size, design? They look the same on the Internet, and I've read that they are made on the same machine.
sunnybean 939
You could buy a R&R S12 bolt carrier. http://randrtargets.com/site/saiga-shotguns/saiga-parts/
pedal2alloy 206
Not saying you can't do it, but modifying a rifle one would be just as difficult as making a new one from scratch. luckily, R&R came out with their aftermarket one and solved the problem for a lot of people. Maknwar 33
Anyone have a side by side pic of them? Looks like there are only a few differences.
JoeAK 337
Not the best pic, but I'll say it's just about impossible to modify a rifle bolt carrier into an S-12 bolt carrier, the S-12 bolt carrier is a bit taller, and the rails are much lower, it also has a large kinda cut-out to clear the shells on ejection. (top is 7.62x39, middle is Saiga-12, bottom is Saiga 5.45x39)
