ShadowFire 220
Just a quick report here. Took my damn near bone stock XN 1919 to a friend's place. His new toy is a skeet toss machine (I have no idea what the real name is.). So we decided to play. Only thing I added to this thing was an extra A2 standalone rear sight I had laying around. Did not get a chance to zero her in. Changed out the choke for a full choke. Friend of mine used some form of a Winchester 12 gauge with the multi lug bolt sort of like an AR lug, pump action home defense model. Well made shotgun for sure. Anyway came my time to shoot, never have shot skeet before. Once I start figuring things out I start blowing these little suckers out of the sky. My other friend with us did better with the 1919 than with the Winchester, I blame it on the full choke. We both used the same type of ammo, Federal multi-purpose value pack, 2 3/4 in low brass. It was great to see my 1919 spit this stuff out without even one jam and beg for more. No booster ring required. Not bad for a Turkish 12 gauge, not bad at all.
bofor 7
Sounds like the Winchester was a SXP Model, if it was I think its also made in Turkey under licence
ShadowFire 220
I think that's what it was too bofor. Yeah I found out in another forum that the SXP is made in Istanbul, Turkey. The SXP is seemingly a really good shotgun though, it did not really give any trouble either.
bofor 7
Right...another really good gun....cheap....reliable....is the Russian made Baikal MP153, semi auto. There is a fantastic YOUTUBE vid showing a bloke covering it in mud, sticking it in a hole in the ice and it still fires !!! Its ideal for those duck shooters and anyone who wants a cheap gun to chuck around.
ShadowFire 220
Yup Baikal makes some outstanding shotguns at an affordable price. I wouldn't mind having an MP153 myself. I've seen one in person, they're pretty nice. I have very little doubt about the 153s reliability, Russian firearms are known for it.
