forsaken352 235
I want to reuse the screws from the factory stock on the KVAR since it didn't come with any. Does anybody know what drill bit size would be best used in doing so? The threads on the screw measure ~.224 from side to side. Thanks!
Mullet Man 2,114
Well, 1/8" is .125, 3/16" is .1875, 1/4" is .250. Fractional bits, I've used 1/8" and it was tight, but a little grease on the threads helps. 3/16" might be too much because the thread is so deep/coarse. Plus you have to take into account imperfections of doing it by hand drill and "chuck wobble" (runout). 5/32" (.156) would be a good in between. forsaken352 235
Thanks! Just wasn't sure because of the coarse threads on this one whether I should way undersize it or not. That and I typically don't drill into polymer materials.
G O B 3,516
Grab the screw. Grab your drill bits. Hold the screw up to the light. Find the bit that hides the body diameter of the screw when you hold it in front of the screw. The right bit will hide the body diameter, but you will still see the threads.
