The 24" barrel versions are the IZ-107 and are more scarce. You got a good deal. There are people who will pay a premium for the extra pipe on the end. Those are full choke.

Some people think those are better, some not.

I would say that overall the quality is generally on par throughout. Some of the old ones have thicker barrels, but I doubt there is any difference between one 24" and another. In those days they really hadn't settled on a consistent number or size of ports, so that could be an issue, but it's still an easy fix if relevant. Also some of the early models did not have the manual bolt hold open, or even a slot in the receiver for one to fit into.

If you want to tacticool-ify  it, I suggest trading it for a tacticool shorter gun rather than chopping it down. You've got a hard to find version, and people will or trade for that.

good info but not what I wanted to hear I already had plans of chopping this gun up to a smaller more custom version. but if I can find a buyer or trade for a converted version with shorter barrel would work for me too. this gun has no bolt hold open and not cut out on safety too. I got the original paper work, manual, and warranty card with it that shows the date as feb something 2000 and the receiver is stamped 00 also. serial number is 000,400,xxx
