  1. I've looked on the net for my particular sight and can't find one. I'll get my daughter's Camera tomorrow and post some pics of the sight and the Box it came in. I picked it up at a local pawn shop for $25 plus tax. jeff
  2. Ding Ding Ding.... we have a winner. Found this out the hard way while working for a small machinery manufacturer right after college. And is one reason I don't want to make parts and sale them. As a matter of fact In my machine shop I will not do business with individuals at all unless you are a good friend. I will only deal with other businesses. Too much hassle and risk dealing with individuals. Just take a look at a few of the vendor boards on this sight. I'm not saying the vendors are right or wrong when they get jumped for stuff, but it's a whole lot easier to deal with an unhappy cu
  3. Thanks fro the link Shaneman and you too Gunfixr for your info. jeff
  4. And wanted to make some gun parts. Not to sell, but for your own use. I don't want to get involved in making parts or repairing other people's guns. Tried something similar with motorcycles. Used to road race and made a lot of my own suspension, controls and other parts. Started selling some and it just become too much of a headache and almost ruined it for me. Sooooooo.... I've got a few parts i want to play around with. Things like silencers and such. I know for me to own one I would have to do the tax thing and all, but is there anything else I would have to do if I build them mysel
  5. Mounted a cheap Chinese made Holo sight the other day. Went to the range this evening after roughly sighting it in in the back yard. At the range got it sighted pretty good at 100yrds. (well good for me anyways) After five or six shots I decided to slam a 30 rounder in and empty it as fast as could and still try and hit the target. Seems i overlooked one part of the instructions on the sight. There is a tiny little set screw you're supposed to tighten down to lock the adjustment of the sight. Only 10 shots got inside the 6 inch circle on my target. The rest didn't even hit paper.
  6. I normally like to sit back and amuse myself by listening to the "expert" shooter when they talk down to or make fun the guy tacticooled up or shooting 10" groups at 100 yards or using a ginormous scope to shoot 50 yards etc etc etc.... Cause I'd bet that at least those being made fun of are having more fun than those that are ridiculing them. And they are enjoying shooting and not the whole social ladder of "experts" and coolness. jeff
  7. LOL Actually .... Ahh never mind.... To put it bluntly. Americans are a little different from our european cousins. If we weren't, this place would be like Europe but it isn't. I don't know why you are trying to tell us how to do things over here. I could give a rat's ass what you do in Hungary. I don't mean that in a negative either. I just could care less what laws you want to have, what the social norm is supposed to be etc etc etc..... You've already pulled the "dumb American" card. That pretty much let's me know you have no idea how america functions and what sets us apart from
  8. Sadly, being likely winner usually means being right. What's right for some, is wrong for others, so there is no real way to define right and wrong. But if we follow that logic... then i could not say rape is wrong, while it is. For rapists, it isn't wrong. For the rest of the world it is. So that makes it wrong - see my point? Anti-rapists are in majority and therefore rape is generally accepted as wrong. See I was going to bow out because of our differing philosophies and different social setting comparing the US to Europe but c'mon man..... Even if rapist were a majority it s
  9. I can only speak fro myself but I have no want or need fro something like that. The options to add so much stuff to an AK is to me just muddying up the waters of what an AK is for. An AK is a everyday battle rifle, rough and rugged. Hanging so much stuff of it and trying to make it fill multiple roles is misguided in my eyes. Let it do what it does best. There are other guns to mount all that other stuff on where a full rail and 4 others might be needed and better used for that weapon. Just my .02

  11. If the majority thinks its right, and the government thinks its right, its not wrong for them and him, only for you. And in that case, sadly, you're the one who's wrong - no matter how unfair that is. Whoa.... I can see now that this is a debate neither of us is going to win cause of what you just posted. I mean if right means all I have to is get a majority to agree with me by your own words.... Then this is something we will never agree with. There is right and wrong, period. Simply having enough people to force your will on someone doesn't make "you" right. It just makes you
  12. Germans were mislead by propaganda and pressure from all around to join the army. And when they were already in and then realized what uncle Hitler was up to was bad, i can imagine it was no easy task to just quit. This is where you don't quite under stand the use of the media in our market. people here have told over and over how dangerous guns are. On every news outlet in just about government function etc etc etc..... So they are won over by the propaganda as you call it just like hitler. Yeah the gun loving and conservative side is starting to make inroads into the media by
  13. HUH?.... So I guess all those NAZI soldiers just loved their job. I mean if they didn't we had no right killing them did we? I'm sorry that makes no logical sense. It doesn't matter if he likes it or disagrees with it. He has a choice in the matter He can do the right thing and refuse the order and possibly lose his job or he can enforce an unconstitutional law. I mean what kind of person chooses a job over what is right and wrong anyway? If he chooses the job over what is right and constitutional then he has chosen the wrong side just like hitler's soldiers did. And from reading

  15. The only saigas I saw were a couple of unconverted x39s. Prices were on the high side if you ask me. They were asking anywhere from $400-$430. Hell my local pawn/gun shop still had a couple of x39s and few 223s the last time I was in there and they weren't that much. The x39s NIB box were right at $300. A few MaK or Mac 90s and that's about it for AK or Ak variants as far as i could see. Plenty of ARs like you said. And plenty of older war rifles. Didn't look at them too close they just don't do anything for me. Saw waht appeared to me to be some decent deals on gear and optics and add ons
  16. At the gun show today I saw more people carrying more guns in one place then I've ever seen before. I know there just had to have been 20 or 30 murders commited around the expo center. I figure it'll be in the paper tomorrow about the surge in crime in north Charlotte NC tomorrow.
  17. Went down to the show today.... Let's just say it was a learning experience. Ammo prices near the main entrance were a good bit higher than prices in the other building. 1000 rnds of X39 wolf or golden tiger FMJ or hollow point for $189 or 300 rnd cans of wolf for $80 and no discount for buying in higher quantities. Let's just say that wasn't a hard decision. Just wish i would have brought more money.
  18. There is a gun Show in Charlotte the we of 5/31 and I plan on going. Don't know who is putting it on just heard about it the other day. My question is this. Having never been to a gun show are there normally dealers there selling bulk ammo at close to online prices? Just wondering so know how much of the green fun tickets I need to have on hand.
  19. Although I can pretty much attend any weekend barring an unforseen(sp) circumstance. The we of 6/13 is best. I can celebrate my B-day by shooting the hell out of a bunch of stuff. It'll beat the hell out of all my but my 15th birthday as far as presents go. and I don't think any men here need to ask what my present was on the 15th one.
  20. Exactly..... I don't see it as hijack Sgt. A few have thrown out dates but none have been picked cause well... we haven't ogot a place yet. I haven't chimed in on the date cause right now I'm lucky enough to a flexible schedule. As long as i have a week or two of lead time to pick up ammo and arrange my work load any date is pretty much good for me. jeff
  21. In 1998 or maybe 1999 can't remember the year but i was buying gas at $.69/ Gallon in NC for a couple of months. jeff
  22. Wow, I guess some are pretty presumptuous. jeff
  23. I'm not having too much luck finding a place in my area, sorry. I hate that I'm the one who first brought up the idea and now can't find a place. I'm gonna keep looking and putting out feelers but at this moment I'm not too optimistic. jeff
