  1. I've never been fond of the .223 round and i never had one yet. After shooting my saiga in 308 i'm kind of on the fence about getting one in .223?? What do you guys think is it worth getting one or should i wait for a 30-06 or 270 saiga? UKP
  2. I also want a 30-06 and a 270 saiga too!!!!!!!!! I'll wait as long as it takes and its well worth the wait for a quality gun like they are. My new saiga in 308 is awesome!! UkP
  3. I think once we remove the top section of the cetme mag the body of the mag is the same shape as the saiga mag all thats missing is the two loc up tabs which can be welded on. I think by just looking at it, it will work. I matched it up to the saiga mag since i have some extra cetme mags sitting here. My Cetme did jamb once but i changed the recoil spring to a new one and i picked up a new buffer for it. Now it shoots ok and its well worth playing with it to get it right if you get one with problems. After shooting it just once i understand why these guys would hang in there and fix them.
  4. I won't chop my gun either to fit a larger mag. but i believe the cetme 30rder will fit with no mods. Now i would like to see a pistol grip stock rather than take my trigger and move it up. Since they make pistol grip stocks for shotguns they should make them for our saiga's too. I think the pistol grip on my saiga is the only thing missing besides a 30rd mag too. Sometimes i think a 30rd mag wouldn't be good either because of my finger problem that could cause an ammo supply problem? (just kidding but its true?) The only time it stops shooting is when the mag is out of ammo. I went thru 6
  5. I think converting the G3 will be easy since its the same shape once you take off the upper tac welded loc up for the G3 rifle. Then the mag has the same shape as the saiga mag and its only missing the loc up tabs which is easy to weld on. Just looking at it, it doesn't seem no biggie to do. I have some low temp weld thats good for 20,000lbs tenslie strenght so it will never come apart and the low heat means no distortion in the mag body too. I'm in the middle of hunting season right now but after turkey day I'll built a 30rder for my saiga. UKP

  7. Ok what your saying is the scope is still off and your out of adjustment right?? The scope has to be on an angle because the adjustment ranout. I would look down the centerline of the bore and try to see which way the scope is angled. Now it could be a scope problem too because i have found some scopes don't have enough adjustment I bottomed out the adjusting screw before it was even bore sighted. I switched to a better scope and it had more adjustment. But i would check the centerline to make sure the mount is parallell to the bore first. I would uae a small level to level the barrel(t
  8. I have a G3 30rd mag that if I pop off the upper tac welded upper bracket on it, it seems to have the same shape exactly as the saiga mag and its only missing the loc up tabs which i believe can be added on. When i get some spare time i'll make one up. I was a welder fabricator and i believe there is a welding process for the loc tabs tha twill work. UKP
  9. I have heard worse about the new m1a's having quality problems too? I'm not going to pay $1,200 for a gun and have problems. I won't buy anything american made. I've had trouble with everything i bought. I only buy older military surplus guns and one of my best ones in 308 is a French 49/56 the other one i have is a Cetme G3 which i'm very happy with too. The saiga is one of the few new guns i own. "UKP"
  10. I get mine from McMaster Carr Industrial supply there in New Jersey and there on the net. I'm using the moly anti-seize and Mcmaster has it in the premium blend it has a higher percentage of moly. Go to McMaster Carr and search "anti seize" halfway down the page the moly anti seize is there. I use it in everything(all my guns). The best part is it stays where you put it and doesn't dryout you can store the gun and its ready to rock n roll at anytime thats great if the SHTF!!! You can feel the difference right away. I put it in all my handguns on the sears in revolvers and the slides in s
  11. First I took me sometime to get my 308 saiga my local gun shop is selling out of them so fast the rack is always empty!!!!! But i finally got one!!!! It has to be the biggest thing since the chinese sks was first imported here. I think the saiga is the most bang for the buck we can buy right now!!!! Where can you buy a rifle that is reliable and dependable as an "AK" designed rifle?? Now make in the 308 caliber and it gets my vote!!! And it has a chromed lined bore/ gas system too for $289!!! I'm ready to go for another one!!!! I'm a C&R collector but I'm going to collect saiga's t
