  2. I am doing a couple right now that have 15.5" barrels with permanently attached 2.5" flash hiders as well as two others that have 12" barrels with 6" flash hiders. That's another option. Tony Rumore Tromix Corp

I have tried quite a few red dots for hunting and they all sucked. With no magnification it is extremely difficult to see the body posture of a dark wild hog under a full canopy of trees. The light is not good, and you can't tell if you have the dot on his ass or his head, or even which angle he is facing. They work great in bright light when your target is a paper one, but it's not like that in the field.
  4. The factory hammer works fine with the other G2 parts. As long as you don't have more then 10 foreign parts (on the ATF list), then you can leave the stock hammer in place.
  5. My intent for them, is to sell them. That's it from my end. What people do with them is their business. I make all kinds of crazy shit that makes no sense to me, but if the customer has the money.......I got the time. Tony Rumore
  6. You could always mount the thing so it would spread the shot vertically. Then you could blast it right by someone that was relatively close to your target.
  7. If everything I sold had a practical purpose, I would be out of business. Guys buy shit because it's cool and interesting. Myself included. What's wrong with that?
  8. McUZI, Do you think there is any way to reproduce the device, or a similar device using conventional machining, or is the thing a casting venture only? Could it be machined in two half shells (split lengthwise), and then welded together? Tony Rumore Tromix Corp
  9. Does anyone know what the thread diameter and pitch is for the factory threaded barrel?
  10. I would need you to measure the OD of the threads on the barrel and then check the thread pitch with a gauge. Once we have that, then I can get a tap and thread it. I could cut the threads with a single point cutter, but without something to check the fit, I would be hesitant to pull a one-off like that.
  11. I made up about a dozen of these flash hiders. They can be attached by bonding in place with red locktite or I can thread them 7/8-28. $49ea shipped. The smooth ended ones shown on the L/H side of the pic are $39ea shipped. Credit card orders are OK. They are currently in the white, but will be parkerized on Thursday and ready to ship. I also made a few to fit the Benelli M3 shotgun as well. http://www.hunt101.com/showphoto.php?photo=317168 Tony Rumore Tromix Corp www.Tromix.com 918 251-5640 e-mail TonyR@Tromix.com
  12. I could thread them for the factory thread if I had a tap. I am not sure what the diameter is or pitch.
  13. Right now the flats are just for looks, but I can thread them 7/8-28tpi if you like.
  14. Yes, I will be selling them. I don't have a firm price nailed down yet, since I only made one, but they should run around $49, with the standard smooth front end version running $39. Just don't hit your buddy in the ass with this thing......that's really gonna piss him off............ If anyone wants one, call me at 918 251-5640. I'm park'ing a bunch of stuff late this week, so it would be helpful if you call soon, otherwise you will have to wait a week or two for the next batch to be parkerized.
  15. I had a customer ask if I could cut a hider with bit more agressive front end profile rather than close the front end out smooth like I normally do, but I didn't have the tooling on hand to pull it off. Well today I bought some new tooling and roughed this one out. I still need to clean it up and park it but it came out OK. http://www.hunt101.com/showphoto.php?photo=316958 Tony Rumore Tromix Corp
  16. You're thinking that the carrier extension piece shown in the pics above is being driven rearward by direct gas impingment like in a standard AK-47 setup. The Saiga is completely different. The "gas piston" pictured is not a gas piston at all and see's no direct gas pressure. It contributes nothing to the volume of the gas chamber/manifold in the Saiga design. There is a seperate gas piston that slides back and forth in the manifold that drives the extension rearward. I don't want to stir up a pile of shit here, but we need clarification from the ATF as to which piece they consider the
  17. The gun would probably run with the shorter extension, but it probably won't cycle with as much force as a long one. The gas piston in the manifold could either be forward in it's bore, or back against the carrier extension when the gun fires. If the piston is rearward, then you simply have a shorter "throw" on the extension as it is drivern rearward. If the piston is forward, then it gets a long running start and then slams into the extension at high velocity, momentarily stops as it overcomes the inertia of the carrier, and then is driven back with the short stroke as mentioned above. I
  18. As long as the person you are sending it to, has an FFL, you can just ship it and he can ship it back to you.
  19. I am not sure where a Kobra sight mounts, so I couldn't tell you if it will clear or not. Here is another pic of the knob viewed from the top. The inboard edge of the knob is 5/8" away from the center line of the receiver. When the bolt is rearward the center of the knob is 3 and 3/8" forward from the back edge of the receiver. Hope this helps. http://www.hunt101.com/showphoto.php?photo=314220 Normally, you don't want to use an upturned handle when you are running an optic, since your hand will get torn up by the optic when you rack the carrier back. I have a Galil style AK chamb
  20. Here is yet another modification requested by Prophet. I machined and knurled the cocking handle from a piece of 4140 steel, very similar to a Galil style handle. However, since the stock Saiga sight rib blocks access to the knob, I had to dog leg it rearward about a 1/2". This mod looks fairly simple, but it was quite time consuming. I will be adding this option to the Tromix list of Saiga modifications. No pricing yet. http://www.hunt101.com/showphoto.php?photo=314194 Tony Rumore Tromix Corp www.tromix.com
  21. The gas piston is actually in the gas block manifold, similar to an M60 setup. The piece you are talking about is a bolt carrier extension in the Saiga design. Maybe the ATF sees it diferently............

  23. I am currently building a couple of 15.5" guns with permanent 2.5" flash hiders, as well as a pair of 12.5" guns with 5.5" permanent flash hiders.
  24. I ran off a bunch of extra back plates for mounting the ACE stocks to the Saiga 12. The EOP matches the profile of the back of the receiver and there are two 10-32tpi threaded inserts captured on the backside. Distance between centers is 5/8". These can be welded, soldered or brazed to the back of your receiver to allow an ACE folder to bolt up. This is a much more sanitary installation than an obscene looking adapter block setup. $10ea shipped. Credit Cards accepted. http://www.hunt101.com/showphoto.php?photo=311464 Tony Rumore Tromix Corp Website www.tromix.com E-mail TonyR@
