NEW/TAKE-OFF AK and Saiga Parts
GlueSniffinEd replied to GlueSniffinEd's topic in Unsorted WTB, WTS, WTT ads 2005 and older
Thanks to everyone that has bought some of my parts; any takers for the few remaining parts I have left? -
Jeez....that sure sounds like a LOT of work. Why not just press off the old FSB and press on a new bulgarian one with the threaded muzzle brake? I don't know what your time is worth but a 12 ton press can be had at Harbor Freight for about 50 bucks. As a bonus, you can use it to fully transform your Saiga into what amounts to being an AK-103.

Thanks to everyone who bought some of my parts!! I have edited my post to only show what I have left for sale. Thanks again. -
Converted Saiga's.....similar to these: http://www.ak-103.com/rifles.html. From what I hear, the AK-USA conversions are top notch and very well converted. None of those sloppy Hesse type weld jobs.

You could trim (dremel) down a penny....that would probably work great.

Bulgarian AK-74 parts have the same inner diameter as the Saiga and will press right on. Romanian parts are a different inner diameter. http://www.aa-ok.com/AK_Tech/aktechinfo.htm Hmmm.....I may be wrong on that according to the above web page. I know for a fact that the Bulgarian AK-74 parts fit beautifully.

DPH Arms has the G2 US made single hooks for $33.00. http://www.dpharms.com/modules/shop/produc...ff87818cccedbf2

Oooooo....Oooooo....PICK ME....PICK ME....... Pressing them off is the best solution. The new AK-74 parts fit perfectly diameter wise but will have to be pressed on as well. As for the jig, make one. When mine was converted the jig was a simple piece of really hard thick metal, like a metal bar, that was hand cut in half with a hole in the middle to fit around the barrel...as long as it goes around the barrel and not big enough to go around the outside of the block...you're fine. Remove the pins, place the rifle butt stock down in the jig/press and press down on the barrel....the block

Welcome!! A good starting point if you are thinking of a PG conversion is here: http://www.cross-conn.com/Saiga_Conversion/. It's very well written and extremely complete.

Nice!! One problem though.....now you are making me want one of those ACE folders for mine :-) I think that's the next on my list of parts, just gotta' come up with the money.

Heh, I have the same philosophy as Vulcan. My Glock 21 came with two STANDARD capacity 13 round magazines instead of the 10 round low-cap magazines that were included during the AWB. I'm just glad my Saiga now accepts STANDARD capacity 30 round magazines instead of the 10 round low capacity import qualifier liberal pacifier mags that it came with.

Very nice! I like the look of the krinkov style stock.
