  1. That AK-LSFB stock will only replace a triangle stock attached to an AK100 style internal rear trunnion. The triangle folder is welded to the AK-BFS. Oh, OK. I must have misunderstood. Thank you.
  2. Thanks for the input and photo guys! They do make the AK-LSFB a solid folding stock that is made as a direct replacement for the triangle. It also has the trap for the cleaning kit. I think the length would be the same but would allow for a solid look. The picture really helps. I don't think it looks bad at all, and definitely seems to be a lot less work for a left side folder, as long as the length isn't an issue for you.
  3. Sorry if this is a redundant post, I searched every way I could and didn't find anything here on it. I've been looking at K-Vars AK-BFS side folding stock. It folds to the left and it's a "drop in" replacement for a fixed stock. The additional block looks like it would make it a tad longer, but the design could make the stock shorter to compensate. It looks like a good option for a left folder with minimal work involved. I was just wondering if anyone has seen it before and has any hands on experience with it. It's selling on their site now for $135... went up about $30 over the pa
  4. I think what it boils down to is the guy likes the flag and had the misfortune of using it as his avatar while asking a question that BigSal thought was stupid. The man just wanted to find out if this was a good idea or not. Instead of being told it was a bad idea and why he was told that he was ignorant and uneducated because of where he is from. Now maybe BigSal was being sarcastic and just trying to tease a bit, but sarcasm don't translite very well into the written word. He didn't come here for a histery lesson, he didn't come here to have his avatar judged. He just wanted to ask if i
  5. I always just stick the slot on the side of the cleaning kit that came with mine right on the notch for the release lever and it moves nice and easy. That works a lot better than tapping a screwdriver. It just gives more leverage. You can look down inside and see it's a half cylinder style catch that rotates when you pull the lever. You just have to make sure you pull it up far enough the catch clears on the way out. Should come off just fine.
  6. I think it's worth the cost and effort to put in the bullet guide and get some K-Var Waffle polymags. Looks good, made well and holds up.
  7. That's gonna be my next purchase. Fairly affordable and a great design making up for all of the old AK optics probs. First one who gets one give us a first hand review, I can't wait to hear it.
  8. So you plink with a 12 gauge right now? Your neighbors must love you! lol Anyhow http://www.dinzagarms.com/ sells the stuff and has some good info on converting to accept ak mags, add a feed ramp and do a little filing and your set. As far as a barrel plunge? I'm not really sure what your talking about unless you mean the cleaning rod. It's possible. I haven't read up much on the how to's of it because I don't care to keep it on my rifle.
  9. You make a good point stix. The quick release lever is a good plan for rail mounted optics... is the weight of the quick release noticeable, or insubstantial? But really when it comes down to it are any of you really in a combat situation with your AK's, for home defense it definitely won't be my go to gun. Same goes for hunting.
  10. That's not what co-witness means. Co-witness means you can use the iron sights through the optic you have mounted. And you cannot, not with the UTG rails. I bought an ultimak gas tube mount and it cowitnesses perfectly with my itac defense red dot. Which is very durable and quite satisfactory, btw. $160 on cheaperthandirt. I machined down my handguard rails so I could use the lower trirail with my ultimak gas tube, so I still got some use out of it. Btw, cowitness also prevents you being SOL when the batteries die. That's kinda the whole point. I'd love to have one of those
  11. Actually the UTG is grooved down the center and co witnesses perfectly. I'm currently using my iron sights and it works just fine.
  12. OK, let me preface this by saying that I'm not trying to be argumentative, I'm just trying to learn. 1. What is wrong with the UTG rail? I understand it is an airsoft company, but I have recently installed one onto my Saiga and I'm pretty happy with it. It seems very solid and does not move. The reason that I purchased this is because the Ultimak is very expensive. So what are the pros to an Ultimak rail and the cons to the UTG? 2. OK, I'm with you here, the airsoft optics are a whole different ball game. I would never consider it. 3. So the Burris optic on the Larue is just more

    PSL

Nice lookin' weapon! How do you like it? I've always loved the look of those and have been eyeballing one for quite some time on Classic Arms website.
  14. Here's mine! I haven't done much with it yet aside from getting a few 30 round magazines, but I have parts on the way and my eye on more. Note: Don't worry, just wanted to see what it looks like, at the range I only use my 5 round mag. She'll be fully compliant in a couple of weeks, needs the feed ramp installed before that 30 rounder will work well anyhow.
