  1. Not at all. For one just wondering if it would work, but now that I see how powerful a slug is by its very nature there is definatly no need for AP slugs. Plus, getting the core to be in the exact center would be more trouble than its worth. Bringing up this topic did teach me that 3in slugs will go through bullet proof glass!!
  2. I have no real intention on making AP rounds, but 18 USC ces 922 reads as if they are refering to pistol ammo, see below. Is this addressed in a different spot including long gun ammo? (17)(A) The term "ammunition" means ammunition or cartridge cases, primers, bullets, or propellent powder designed for use in any firearm. ( The term "armor piercing ammunition" means - (i) a projectile or projectile core which may be used in a handgun and which is constructed entirely (excluding the presence of traces of other substances) from one or a combination
  3. Do you have a scratch mark on the paint on your bolt carrier where the pin faces it when assembled?
  4. I noticed that the Bolt-Head pin seems loose. I can actually move it out a little by just slapping the bolt on my palmn. I tried drifting it in tighter with a hammer, but after shooting it became loose again. I also notice contact marks on the bolt carrier, on the paint. It appears that the bolt carrier keeps this pin from coming out. Is it supposed to be removed by just using the drift without requiring a hammer? To get to the firing pin, I can remove this pin by just applying hand pressure to the drift that it comes with. Do all saigas have bolt-head pins that behave this way? Any insig
  5. How many shots did it take to make the first complete hole? I had some of this answered when I clicked on the link. Was the glass compromised before the slug was used? I saw that you hit it with a 7.62mm NATO close to where the slug impacted.
  6. How many shots did it take to make the first complete hole?
  7. Is it possible to make a hollow point slug into an armour piercing slug by screwing a small steel screw through the center of the slug? Or is this just urban legend?
  8. They do require fitting.

    MD-20

Let me know when they start making one that will hold 3in shells, then I will get excited.
  10. What experiance? What happened?
  11. You thought he was black, merely because of who flies his planes? I keeed, I keeed. When I read posts by Juggernaut, I actually imagine the Juggernaut in the picture doing the talking.
  12. Yeah, it runs great, being that it's the company themselves doing the video. AA has plenty of videos of their doorstop running great.......in their guns. I'm all for Saiga-specific products, or new gun products at all......but the way they went about getting the word out is shitty, IMO. Also, for the price, I don't see the point. That's just me though. YMMV. I just want a drum that will take 3in shells.
  13. That doesn't sound constitutional, but then again not a single gun control law is.
  14. I found these mags to be tough. I have fired 3in magnums through them without any lips breaking. Some have had stories of the lips breaking with magnum loads, but I believe that if a stove pipe misfeed will break a sure fire, it will probably break any mag. As for promags, once they are fitted and followers corked and resized, they are just as good with much stronger spring tension. I have both sure fire and promags and actually like them both equally.

    3in drum

    I have a strong need for a 3in 20rd drum. A 30rd drum would be even better.
  16. No. Saiga 12 is only 2 3/4 and 3in.
  17. Can these even be imported?
  18. You got a pic for that too!!! Very true. The one time I DON'T have adequate eye protection and a few pellets ricocheted from a steel plate and pelt me in the eye and temple..... I was extremely lucky though. The plate was about 20 or so yards away and they were very light loads, so they hit me with far less power than a BB gun. Still hurt like hell. That was from a SASS (cowboy action shooting) practice. I'm a life member. Corbin P.S. Yeah, I know.....full load to the face! I took a load to the eye! etc etc. LOL P.P.S. Patriot, Nope, I'm not black. Spanis
  19. Great video! I had this preconcieved notion that you were black. This is probably due to your aviator.
  20. Has anyone tried these drums? http://www.maxrounds.com/ Is this a trust worthy site to order from? I really need a 20rd drum that will hold 3in shells!!!!!

    Pic Request

Promag follower problem is easily fixed by hot water cork and a quick rinse of cold water. I fixed 10 of them that way.
  22. I actually like the fact that the surefire does not have steel lips. I don't see any advantage in steel plus the surefire shells move more smoothly from the plastic lips than the steel lips that tend to scratch the rim. I just think that surefire needs slightly stronger springs to overcome the friction of 12x 3in shells, then they would be perfect. I also have 10x promags and love the way they look and spring tension, but they don't feel as smooth as the surefire. I have fired 12rd mags with magnum loads and none have broke. I believe that a stove pile that would break a surefire will break an

    3in drum

Is anyone working on a 20rd or 30rd drum that can shoot 3in magnum shells?
  24. Did you cut down those 12rd surefire mags to 8rds? Are they the same as buying a 8rd surefire mag?
  25. I can get it to cycle federal #7 1/2 low brass on setting 2. I shot 100rds of this stuff with only one misfeed. I just wonder how low I can go. The AA feather weight #8 might be it, but I am yet to try the regular strenght AA #8.
