  1. The weight of your gun also offsets some of the opposite and equal reaction "recoil." The slug or bullet is also excellerating down the barrel until it run out of barrel. This exelleration also offsets this opposite and equal reaction. So the energy of a slug once it has exellerated to full velocity will have more energy than what it exhibited during recoil. Other wise you would have over 1000 pounds of recoil. This would be the case if excelleration was instantanious and barrel lenght was not needed. Well... Shotgun barrel length has nothing to do with projectile velocity... A 8" barrel

  3. I can respectfully understand you position, though i do not agree. I would think a hard surface would transfer momentum better than soft, though spreading it over a larger area. Still i can agree this is a entirly moot point. My 2 Euros... Or, Ameros as the case may soon be. A hard plate would transfer more kenetic energy over a wider area than soft armor. Therefore the felt blunt force would be less to the victim. Also something else to think about; If a slug has so much power as to throw a victim down to the ground, what is it doing to the guy shooting it? For every action there is an
  4. KA's tappet along with a Gunfixr's gas plug seem to be two of the absolute best and cheapest investments you can make in a stock S-12 to vastly improve performance. Both of those used with a 25% reduced power hammer spring.
  5. Yes. The concave part toward the front to increase the gas volume and increase performance.
  6. I am a firm believer that a GUNFIXER plug used with a KA piston puck and a 25% reduced power hammer spring will allow you to shoot the widest range of ammo, from the heaviest to lightest loads.
  7. I own 10x. They have worked perfectly for all 2 3/4 shells. I have had trouble feeding 3in shells, but only loading 8 rds in a mag or cutting it down to a 8rd mag for 3in shell use has fixed this problem. Some have had the 12rd mags break off at the lip, I have not. See the threads on the subject. I believe that some saigas might be more prone to breaking these than others, deffinatly if you have your gas setting set on 2 when it should be on 1. I will definatly be buying more of these. Gregg also has some that are clear.
  8. +1. I find it interesting that Cameron mentions that his rail is made from 6061 aluminum, but leapers does not go into detail on their sight or cataloge as to the type of metal used. They do say that theirs is aircraft grade aluminum, but that is not the same as 6061 aluminum. Leapers also weighs about 3OZ more than the Chaos rail. More weight and cheeper material definatly translates into lower price. You definatly get what you pay for.
  9. It's machined from billet aluminum and made in China. The Leapers UTG side mounts are actually made with good fit and finish so we have reasonable expectations for good product. I don 't really want or need a quad so count me out. It's a shame our production capability in this country is so poor that we cannot produce many things that are good quality and affordable, just boutique high end stuff. Ah well, we sold out our manufacturing sector a long time ago and it will never return unfortunately. Good to know your personal ethics are in line with the current administration. Fu
  10. In addition to the GUNFIXER plug a KA pistion will help as well.
  11. I think that you would be even better off with a GUNFIXER plug used with the KA piston and 25% reduced hammer spring.
  12. I think that the Chaos quad rail would be better quality. Besides, how can you say no to a face like this?
  13. While you will not get penetration of a vest (of any sort) with a shotgun, you guys are forgetting "blunt force trauma". You put a slug into a person with a vest, it's gonna break ribs / do internal damage. Same thing with a close range (very close range) shot charge. +1. What if you spray 8x slugs from sure fire mag?
  14. Gothchick. Please tell me that is not one of you turds in your avator picture.
  15. Things could change back to the worse if we are not careful.
  16. Me? I think it's ugly as shit...lol! And yes nalioth I do realize that I just replied to a 6 yr old thread It's still funny IMO. I hate to sound ignorant, but is it illegal to put a pistol grip on the forearm of a shotgun? I saw this on gunbroker, is it illegal? Since you are ignorant, let me clue you in. Some asshole anonymously bumped this poll last week from a 6 year sleep. This thread is 6 years old and out of date in many ways. I feel really stupid, but educated and relieved.
  17. So it's just like buying it from walmart.
  18. I'm not sure what you mean here but it is illegal to just add a pistol grip, even here in OK. A felony BTW. I did not know that it was illegal to add a pistol grip. Do you mean a pistol grip on the foregrip? Is this a federal law or does it very from state to state? I guess I might be confused again............I thought u could add it onto the weapon iteself as long as it is american made and does not add into the 10 parts of the total on the wiki page?............Did I understand that incorrectly? Is this saiga legal or illegal? Note: Not mine, I got this picture off gunbroker. AT
  19. What do you mean PRC? Is that good or bad?

  22. The following items will maximize the variety of ammo you can use, but results will vary from saiga to saiga: http://www.mdarms.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=1724 http://www.kingarmory.com/My_Homepage_Files/Page41.html http://store.carolinashooterssupply.com/se...inspring/Detail All these parts used together will allow you to fire the widest range of ammo. Also look at the bolt polishing threads.
  23. I am considering mounting a laser on top of my saiga barrel, but I don't like to mount things on barrels. Has anyone had any issues mounting lights or lasers directly to a barrel? Do they tend to come loose after live fire?
  24. It looks very tempting, but what about weight. Does anyone know what it is made out of? You tend to get what you pay for. Disregard my last post, these things are made from aircraft aluminum. Gregg. Let us know when you get them in.
