  1. How does the ACE cheekrest attach? Would it work on the triangular skeleton stock? And that gun is really F-ing sweet. Nice job dude.
  2. Is that optics mounted way up front Stokstad? Could you please explain how you mounted them there, and why that far forward please? Thanks!
  3. Recoil pad stays on in various ways. If you're working with the skeleton triangle stock, it's a belt. Unfortunately, the pad doesn't fit snugly at all, so it moves around a lot and can slide off even with the belt. However, I'd suggest molding it to the stock with a resin of some sort. Then it stays on very well, and the resin acts to absorb even more shock. If you're working with non-skeletal stocks, it slips on snugly enough that it doesn't really fall off. If you need to, you can still cut a notch in your stock to pass the belt through. This is one of the many reasons I'd sug
  4. S-20 Magazines?!? OMG, I've died and gone to American-made heaven!
  5. What is that guy holding? And how did it get to be all over him? Additionally, yes, I agree: there will be a TON more saiga owners. About 10 of my friends are dying to get their hands on one, which I couldn't be more excited about. Educate and arm the masses is what I say. To me this seems like what Kalishnakov envisioned. An affordable, simple gun that most anyone could obtain and use.
  6. I've seen ass naked super-models no where near as pretty as that gun. Man I want one!
  7. That seems like a pretty intense change...or can the metal be cast in a mold as easily as plastic? Any ideas? Badz?
  8. Y'all are awesome! Thanks for the info, I guess 3 would be a bit big, but it would look sweet. Oh well, until Beta-Cs are available I guess I'll just go with 2 cinched. I appreciate the links as to where to find them, and thank you Cobra for the info on how to fix up the M14 clamps. Definately helpful since I'd be clueless without pictures and instructions. Now if I just had enough magazines to put in a bunch of clamps...I can't wait to see those American made mags all cinched up and ready to go.
  9. So I'm about to buy an S20, but am curious if the price seems comparable to what the new importers might have. How much did EAA charge for S20s when they imported them? Will the new importer be semi-comparable? Thanks for any info offered.
  10. I was looking to go to the 3gun in Oxford, but I have to work that weekend. So I'm going to go ahead and plan to make it to the 3gun there in November. I have a friend interested in learning the ropes of competition too, so I'm bringin' him along. I'm still going to try to make it to the tac-match in Norfolk on the 22nd tho. Let me know if anything changes on this match please. Thanks! Hopefully I'll see ya there.
  11. Great, thanks y'all. I wasn't quite sure if 3 would be too many, but I will side with y'all and say that it'd be too ungainly and actually slow me down more than help me. If only Beta-Cs were available...anyone want to take on that project? I'll check into the cinches y'all listed, thanks for the info! And this will save me money enough to pick up an S20.
  12. With the possible release of available/affordable magazines sometime in the near future, I was curious if anyone would be kind enough to tackle another project that would benefit all of us S12 lovers: Magazine Clamps! I've been informed that you can use mag-clamps for other guns and rig them to work with the S12 magazines, something about bending and grinding them, but I'm about as mechanically gifted as a jar of mayonaise, so probably not the best idea for me to try this. Also, to my knowledge these clamps only work for clamping two magazines together, and let's be honest, we really ne
  13. Please PM me the store in Tennessee if you choose not to get it. I will buy it and make sure you feel appreciated as the finder of such a coveted treasure. Hopefully Cobra won't mind if I get it since he already has 103428 Saigas and I only have one. But he did speak first, so he and I will peacefully figure it out if you choose not to get it. Thanks!
  14. I posted this question previously piggybacked on another thread, but I figured I'd give it a go at getting more attention. Does anyone have any feedback on EAA's (Tanfoglio) Witness handgun? As much as I want an AK and a Rem700, I think first I shall get a hi-cap capable 9mm, but don't want to get a dud. Thanks for any info you can offer.
  15. That's a trek for me, and I need more experience. I haven't even broken in my AR, and they're talking taking 300yrd shots. So I'll stick to the amateur games a little while longer before steppin up to the major league. Any three guns closer to NC?
  16. I haven't gotten to shoot much with my new chokes, but from everything I can tell Tom did a great job. My zero is perfect (or as perfect as adjustable sites can be), so I'm more than happy. I just want to shoot some more. And thanks for the info Dinzag...might be better to go with Winchoke for versatility and availability.
  17. Sometime over the summer there was an awesome website that covered the difference b/t 5.56 and .223 on this forum and EVERYTHING else about ammo. I'm desperately trying find that post, does anyone have any ideas? Thanks. PS-I think Indy posted the link...
  18. And I thought you were kidding. I might have to change my avatar to that now. Thanks. That made my morning.
  19. Ok, time to try to gain a better education about ammunition. This bi-metal bullet question has me curious...I have a chrome-lined AR-15 with 1:7" twist, thus I need some heavier bullets. I went with the 62gr. steel core green-tipped Natos. I'd assume this won't hurt my barrel, but what is a steel core? Exactly what it sounds like? Steel surounded by lead? Thanks
  20. And I really want to see a rabbit with a pancake on its head.
  21. A quick question about Kmoore's post which I hate to even bring up since he has much more experience than I, but aren't Win-choke threads the most common? I thought Mossburg, Winchester, and Browning all used Win-choke, and ONLY Remington used Rem-choke. Thus, most shotgun manufacturers have the threading for Win-choke and this will be your most available choke tube. Anyone know more than I that can second Kmoore? Thanks
  22. Also, which Cumberland Pawn? From a quick search, there's a bunch in Fayetteville.
  23. Ahhh! Thanks Bearclaw. Anyone have updates on availability or price with the new importer? I want that S-20 but if I can get it cheaper or when I can more easily afford it, I'd do that.
  24. For $17 bucks seems worth a try...let us know if you roll the dice!
  25. I agree...I have Briley's Compensated Choke Tubes. I love 'em. You may also look at Cutts Compensator, Gunner's Choice, or the Brileys. All seem like good options.
