  1. What about just using a regular 7.62x39 bolt? Will it work with the Saiga bolt-carrier?
  2. Recently took mine to the range, I think I did pretty well. Estimated distance to berm: around 80-100yrd. One of these days I'll get around to using a proper lower handguard retainer, but a black painted hose clamp seems to work just fine.
  3. Damn, and I thought that they already were easy enough to convert! Hopefully they are doing this for the new 5.45 saiga's, as they are now on my "need to acquire" list.
  4. This was with a Mojo Microclick rear sight, and Silver Bear 122gr Hollow Point.
  5. I would guess that the range to the target was around 80-100 yards, here's a picture of the target from the bench I was using. Mojo microclick peep sights, they are a required mod!
  6. I went ahead and bought a tap from lowes to tap my bullet guide hole, I've had problems with small dual cutting edge taps before, and replaced it with a four cutting edge tap.
  7. Looks like I just got the second half of the order, I'll ship those tomorrow.
  8. What can I say, my parents raised me well. I just wish that I could say the same about others in my generation.
  9. I've already contacted both the proper owner, and Dinzag. The parts are on there way to the rightful owner. The best part about having the name "John Brown" is that the Terminator will have a real tough time finding me, he'll have to go through around 4 pages or so. And I live in a small city!
  10. So, about two months ago I ordered some conversion parts for my Saiga 7.62. They came, and the quality was excelent, the conversion went off without a hitch. But... Today I check my mailbox, and behold! A padded envelope from Dinzag full of parts... Now I see this and I'm thinking, WTF I didn't order any parts lately. Sure enough, I check the invoice, and these parts belong to someone else. So what should I do? These parts are not mine, and I do not plan on keeping them. I don't know if Dinzag realized that they never sent these parts to the person that ordered them or not
  11. I need a lower handguard retainer to finish my Saiga conversion. PM or email me at brownj255@yahoo.com if you have one.
  12. I had the rifle for around two weeks in the stock config before I converted it. Curent Highlights Tapco G2 trigger group FCG retainer plate US pistol grip Tapco stock Dinzag Arms Bullet Guide. Mojo microclick rear sight Plus a little time with a dremel on the mag catch and I've got this so far. I've got a set of K-Var black handguards and an Arsenal Gas tube on the way, just need a lower handguard retainer.
  13. The Governator has been getting a bad rap lately, but with how liberal the politics are out here it could be a whole lot worse. If Gavin Newsom for example is ever elected governor like he wants, then I'd expect the BS gun laws to flow for sure. At least the Governator signed a law that prevents the state attorney general from adding new AK's and AR15's to the series banned lists (All AK's are "supposed" to be banned by series out here), which effectively legalizes all newer AK/AR15 models with no chance they will be labeled assault weapons without a new law passed. Most people out her
  14. Re-align everything and then make sure that the shepherd's crook or shepherd's crook replacement is in the groove of the hammer pin. I use the shepherd's crook replacement. To check to see if it's in the hammer pin grove I try to push the pin out with the piece installed, if it doesn't move, it's in the grove, and should not walk out.
