Only thing I can think of is that that spacific stock replacement is not a "sport" or "hunting" style. But I'm new to this so I'm prolly wrong

This is my first time converting a rifle and I just want to make sure I got this right. I want to keep it in a draganov look so if I change the buttstock and forarm (US) than it's 922 comp as long as I use 10rd mags (US). Otherwise I'd have to change the FCG and than its all good. And if I change one, say the buttstock, than I have to change other things to be compliant ....correct?
  5. Addition to the family!! My first Saiga!! 308, 22in barrel!! And the rest of the family (pics are kinda crapy...sorry)
  6. I believe the Tantal I've been looking at is a side folder. I shoot lefty too, and the stock folds right, so that might be an issue for me also. I've also been kicking around the idea of trying to find an Arsenal SGL20, but they all seem to be priced through the roof at most places. My main concern over about the 5.45 is that the ammo might not be as common place as the 7.62 here in the States. If I went with a Tantal or AK74 I could always stockpile the ammo I guess.... Side folders, for me are not an issue as long as they fold and unfold or at least unfold without having to push
  7. I sugest you check them out before buying one. Its my understanding that most ofthe Tantals are underfolders. This caused a few problems for me. I had allways wanted an underfolder and eventually got to try one out when a buddy of my bought a Yugo 7.62 underfolder. Now I'm glad I didnt just go outand order one. The problems for me were... 1) I'm a lefty and the release button on the underfolder was on the wrong side (for me) . This would force me to switch arms everytime I wanted to fold/unfold the thing. 2) The wire like metal didnt feel to good under my cheek when fired The firs

    Hello Folks

Ok so it took me some time to find it but here is where I heard about the "Light ball only" for PSL. http://www.ak47.net/forums/topic.html?b=4&...79&t=119111 "What ever you get, just make sure it is in the 150gr bullet weight range. Heavier bullets will cause the action to batter the bolt carrier against the stop and actually stretch the receiver in fairly short order." "The issue with heavy ball is that the gas system isn't tuned for the higher pressures, so it ends up beating the crap out of the receiver, potentially causing damage in the long run. Loading heavier rounds

    Hello Folks

First time hear of light bullet requirement. How about heavy 180+ grain sniper ammo that this rifle was designed for? How about extra heavy armor piercing ammo? Saiga 308 is recommended to use 150 grain max because of rifling twist, but SVD/PSL are rated for heavy ammo. And by the way, Tigr would rather be marksman's choice, definitely not Saiga 308 I'm not sure about the SVT or the Tiger but what I was told is that heavy ball for the PSL is a big no no! Supposedly it will mess up the gun. This is what I was told on the PSL forums. I dont know how true it is but I dont want to fi

    Hello Folks

I recently got the Saiga bug and have been looking to pick up a long barrel Saiga 308 to make into a sniper/marksman rifle. I'm new to this sniper/marksman thing. Bought my first one around February of this year, a PSL and I love it. Only problem I have is that I was told to only use 150gr and lower ammo and its a pain in the a$$ trying to find them. Gun shows usually sell out of them before I get there or the seller doesnt know if they are light or heavy gr. In 2 weeks there is a gun huge gun show here (Valley Forge Pa) and I was thinking of picking up a Saiga. Are there a lot of
