  1. Bvamp, I've done this.BUT.... The shotgun mag was just a lucky find. I didn't think it was too practical ? because I probably wouldn't ever find another mag and don't even know what the original mag fit?? (You can find my "post" on this site and how I did it (get your "duct" tape out) UNTIL,???? someone actually builds a new mag??? The Saiga 12 is limited unless you want to pay the price?? from Russia. The mag I modified is flawless in operation . I did not even post a picture... what's the point? There are not a bunch of these floating around either.SO, I guess we all wait till someone ACTUAL
  2. Blackjack, Yes, I'm sure there would be a good demand for the part. The first one to get the BHO device on the market is going to be the winner. mikey 1
  3. Shotgunman,Thanks but that one won't work on the shotgun. The hold open notch arm needs to be to the rear of the device instead of near center. 6500rpm,Ive already done the "stock",homemade notch deal. I'm building the shotgun for 3 gun shooting(speed is the need). Looking at my 7.62x39 Saiga rifle I can see what is needed and thought if I can get a tracing ? I could save myself a lot of time & trouble and get it right the first time. At presant, the BHOpen doesn't lock open after the last shot like a "Colt pistol" BUT I imagine someone is working on that?. For most people the "stock"
  4. I called Krebs on the phone ,they don't make them. Since the gun is apart, I would like to add this. This "Site" shows this part but it's not availible??? mikey1
  5. Does anyone know where to buy the BHO for the shotgun/or/can someome e-mail/mail me a tracing of this part so I could build one . I'm converting my trigger group and would like to add this part. mikey1
  6. Thanks vjor,Itwould seem the best idea is to use a front sight that has a thread already on it... I see that there are different adaptor sizes that can adapt different muzzle /compensators Off hand,I am told the Bulgarian front sight(threaded) is the same as the Siaga barrel o.d. But I don't know this? I guess that is the question ..who's barrel is the same od as the Saiga's,then I could use their front sight/break. mikey1
  7. I've just had my Saiga 7.62x39 out for a test run today. The little piece of 3/4" pipe /bullet feed ramp modification really does work,GREAT INPUT from the FORUM. I'm "aiming" (HA,HA) towards the 3-gun comptition end of the game. I use a compensated .38 Super STI gun for my open pistol class gun. Can I get some input from the forum members about adding a compensator/muzzle brake to my rifle? I've done the basics and know that the front sight can be replaced with a threaded one BUT there seems to be some confusion in my mind as to just what fits the Saiga barrel and who sells what??? Any help i
  8. Have NIB Saiga 12. 22" full choke, barrel not threaded for other chokes,no BHOpen, ajustible sight(rib)1ea.5 round mag. Will need to ship to your FFL from my FFL unless you live in NEW MEXICO. best offer takes. Accept U.S. Post Office money order ONLY. I'm reasonible. Mikey1
  9. What is/how did you do the muzzle brake? Does it work as you expected? Looks like the front sight can be replaced with a threaded one? BUT there appears to be several different barrel o.d.'s? What fits the Saiga? Input anyone Thanks
  10. Put me on your e-mail list when the mags are ready. I'll take a box and 1/2. Thanks for your efforts.
  11. CDNN was out the other day when I called. NoveltyGuns has them listed on GunsAmerica site. He has the Weaver mount style also(In case you have your own scope or want a red dot.) He is about $35 shipped to you using the GunsAmerica price. try item #976544679,this will give you a picture. Note ,he has both steel and aluminum, high and low mount. you will want the high mount for a shotgun generally(still can use the stock sight then) Hope this helps
  12. CDNN has the rail mount w/scope for a decent price. Some others have just the bare mount with rail for $40 and you can use your scope. THIS is the mount you want! See my post on "DAY-GLO" if you want a cheap front sight you can see. Mikey1
  13. Just changed my front sight to "Day-Glo" type. The simplest way was NOT to take the ribbed sight rail off the gun!(I DID AND IT WAS A BEAR TO GET BACK ON) Just file the front brass sight down till flat, CENTER MARK/DRILL IN THE CENTER,GENTLY drill the stock brass sight out(It's like a rivet)TAP the stock sight hole to 6/48 and thread your 6/48 sight in and enjoy! All parts are availible at Brownells/most gunstores and even if you don't wish/can't find a 6/48 tap any gunsmith shouldn't charge more than $5 to tap the hole? This whole project should not cost more than $20 max. (Some of these si
  14. Well, the mag works.I can't say I'm not pleased,BUT I don't think many of these are availible?.The follower sits very high and acted as a bolt hold open.(after last "shot") Another forum member had good input...the left lower extractor hook (BOLT FACE) "could" hit the primer(BIG BOOM) as the round cycles, IF the rear of the magazine MODIFICATION ALLOWS THIS.(simple fix, don't allow this to happen) I used the following tools, materials. (TRUE) 1 piece of old 1/8 th. "gate hinge",hacksaw, 3/32"braising rod, small Harbor Freight 6" rafter square, Duct tape.turbo torch,2 ea. # 8 D nails. The rafter
  15. LOT's of interest in a hi-cap mag that will work? I can't beleave the price of the plastic mags. I'm planning on shooting the 3 gun game and will need frequent mag changes. I'm looking for a steel mag that has similar size openings as the Saiga 12. I have noticed reference to the .308 G-3 mags but don't have one in hand. Is it in the ballpark? (Cheaper Than Dirt has 30 rders @ $15 ) ( I have converted one unknown brand 7 rounder to Saiga 12, BUT it was just a lucky $5 find at a close out and probably won't ever find another?) (After I find out if it is fully functional I will post the procedu
  16. Looking for treaded barrel,Saiga 12 guage w/choke tubes. mikey1
  17. Thanks, Rusty. I can see were the indent(hole) is supposed to be in the middle of the floor plate of the mag. The mount is what I was thinking of(for red dot scope). This is a EAA 2001 gun,no choke tubes,no hold open for the bolt. (Bought from CDNN) Too bad about the mags not being able to be modified,as they seem to be availible? at this time. I was going to try the 3 gun game, if I can find some mags. Since I will have to shoot the gun in the "open" class (magazine gun)I'm thinking about getting the barrel ported. It looks like I could spend a few $$ and have a competitive gun?
  18. Quest.# 1 Just received my saiga 12. I'm wanting to get inside the saiga 12 mag. The floor plate is loose BUT I don't want to BANG on it and brake something as they seem to be hard/expensive to find at this time? (I've done a little "prying" but no go so far) Quest. # 2. Are the siaga 12 and the saiga 20 mags the same size (can the siaga 20 be modified to fit the siaga 12?) Quest. # 3 The siaga 12 left side seems to have a "scope" mount rail availabile, whose is best? Thanks, mikey1
