  1. "What would be most excellent would be for them to realize the growing sport of 'action shooting' is as sport." What would be even better would be for the Supreme Court to finally clarify that the Second Amendment has NOTHING to do with "sporting purposes"! That would eliminate most of GCA68 and just about everything else that followed it....
  2. Can the 12ga sight be sleeved to fit the 20ga barrel?
  3. "'Sporting purposes' was invented by the ATF under Clinton and I don't think you will see that term rearing it's ugly head under the current administration." No, it's the unconstitutional premise behind GCA68. Perhaps someday - if W can add a strict constructionist or two to the bench - the Supreme Court will finally toss the GCA where it belongs (in the trash). I wouldn't hold my breath, though... Agreed about keeping the discussion of reclassification, etc., to a minimum - I've already redacted my earlier posts. Maybe this whole thread should simply be deleted and Motorcityma
  4. "...I believe that all this talk about reclassification is equally as harmful." I agree and will edit my previous postings momentarily...
  5. "There's pics on the forum somewhere of how to cut the top of the G-3 mag so that it will present the same feed angle as the S-12" Can someone point me to these pics? I tried searching but "G3" is not a valid search term (too few characters or somesuch). Thanks.

I can push the shell most of the way down into the magazine with a wooden dowel and it pops right back up - no binding, no problems of any kind. The top end of the mag (feed lips, etc.) would need a little work, but not much. So... Has anyone tried using aluminum G3 mags??
  7. "Not an official ruling, but certainly is an indication..." Agreed - thanks for sharing that! I hope the other letter is posted soon, too...
  8. I recently imported a couple of CETME ejectors from Spain and then had the pleasure of discussing the matter with not only the local BATFE office but also Imports and finally Rick Vasquez, Assistant Chief of Technology Branch. Short version: Imports Branch now considers "minor parts" (those covered by the $100 personal import exemption) to consist of "screws and pins". Any other firearm component - whether a magazine or, in my case, a $6 ejector - needs an approved Form 6. Long version: See http://www.cetmerifles.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18.
