  1. One of the knowledgeable chaps should put a sticky up on this problem, and explain that this is so common, albeit aggravating, and stressful, but the issue will clear itself up by breaking in the gun with a bunch of shooting. I was ready to send mine off for warranty service, and then it just fixed itself. Strangest part was 5 rounds earlier, it had total FTE. then all of a sudden it ran perfect, and even shoot the crappy Winchester stuff Seems like there is some metal bur in there that has to get knocked off, and all of a sudden, it cycles perfect
  2. Not to go off topic..... but you may want to "FEEL THE CHANGE!" From Washington Post article on the rules of engagement in Afghanistan. I'm not making these up; General McChrystal is. After all, we don't want any Afghans to get hurt. #7 Only women can search women. ( After all, it's not as if they would "cheat" by wearing women's clothing.) #6 No night or surprise searches. #5 Villagers have to be warned prior to searches. #4 ANA or ANP must accompany U.S. units on searches. ( Assuming the Afghan army or police feel like showing up. NO penalty for not showing up.) #3 U.S. s
  3. I was going through a couple of the various forums here, and saw people commenting saying you always shoot to kill, to people who were talking about less than lethal loads. The less than lethal people want to shoot to wound, and then there are those that say shoot to kill is the correct legal way.. The answer to both is wrong, You never, ever shoot to kill, or wound in a defensive situation, you only shoot to stop the threat, and you only shoot until there is no longer a threat. Obviously 3 rounds of 00Buck is going to kill the guy, but that his problem, for picking a well armed victim.

    loose tolerances

I admit to some buyers remorse for a short time until the Saiga loosened up, started running right, and now I am considering a Saiga rifle, just not sure of the best caliber... If I were you, I'd consider buying a SGL21, (basically a semi-auto AK-103 without the folding stock), for $550 from K-Var while their very temporary sale lasts. They're Legion, (Izhmash custom rifle shop), Saigas.. and when you buy one of these.. basically you're "done". All the military features, (except selective fire), are already in place. When you buy a standard "sporter" Saiga 7.62x39 rifle, you're buying
  5. Sorry, but the government can't even identify a Muslim terrorist in the US military, who is telling everyone his thoughts, and letting them know he likes the enemy. And on top of that, is communicating with known Terrorists, whom they are not arresting either All the idiots in the federal government, and Army did was promote him. The feds are busy searching 10year old Caucasians girls, and old white ladies at the airport to notice the 5 people who match "the Profile" conversing with each other, but yet get seated in different parts of the plane. Actually happened to me. I do not se

Ok, so I am sitting around, and decide to clean up the s-12 from yesterdays shooting. I pull the dust cover off, and the bolt assembly out, and start wiping out the grit, and grime inside. I hear something rattling around, down there, and see a glint of something brass moving around. I am think Oh shit, I finally get it performing perfect and not it is going to fall apart. So I dog around and pull out what, looking down into the gun, looks to be a loose sheer pin of some kind. Well, I finally have to turn it upside down, and shake it lose, and out it falls. the whole time I am thinking, t

    Mag Change

Not an expert on this, but I can insert a full mag into my closed bolt, I believe the term most use is "rock, and Lock". I insert the mag back end first, and then rotate the front into the well , where the round, and mag compress from the rear to the front.then rotate the rear out so the nib at the front will catch, and roll it forward as the rear drops in, and the mag locks. Video would be easier to understand. I .
  9. I did it myself, and also train dogs.obedience, Agiltiy(K9) and Protection. .Dog training is my true obsession You can't put down my shooting, I know it sucks. That's why I use a 19" barrel shotgun I need a shot pattern about the same size as a barn
  10. Interesting, I'll have to play around with the bump-fire some more. I imagine bumpfire with high brass would be the definition of "spray, and pray" Something that impresses me about the S-12 is the controllability with sustained fire. You'd think it would be flopping about like a fish in a boat, Every round goes right where you want it which means a double tap yields two holes in the same place. I also like the wide spread of the round as compared to my Winchester 1200 pump. which has a wonderfully tight, circular pattern, which is desired in that type of gun. The s-12 is the
  11. Took the S-12 to Knob Creek today put three hundred rounds through it, and had two stove pipes, while trying to bump fire it, and one double feed, for some unknown reason, I started out by putting 12 high brass #2 rounds through it,, and then put some federal Wally world rounds through it, with no problem, and continued to shoot the cheap crap the rest of the day. 150 rounds were Federal, and another 150 rounds were a mix of Remington, and Winchester Wally world roundsthat I had, and decided to clear our through the Siaga, or if it did not fire those, I would have run them through the Win
  12. You might want to look at a site called extreme deals.com. Delivery is slow, but the prices are good. I order from them. They are china based, but all the flashlights come from china anyway, so might as well cut out the middle man. They have slip in LED parts for existing lights. I ordered a 280 lumen light that was simply blinding for about 15 bucks. unfortunately Xenon lights do not handle Siaga recoil well, and the replacement bulbs will be delivered next week, still a great light though, just not for the shotgun.
  13. I prefer to know what I am starting with works perfect, before I set to work modifying it. I am going to follow what the gent @ RAA told me, I will head over to Knob creek this weekend, and blow about 200 rounds of high brass through it, and then see what I can do with the other 200 rounds of cheap federal, and remington. He did say the cheap Winchester stuff probably would never cycle through it, but Remingtom, and Federal should be fine, if that did not work out, RAA would take care of me. I guess I'll make the supreme sacrifice, and spend some time blowing crap apart with it.
  14. Thanks for the offer, but I will use the warranty system first. I spoke with RAA this morning, they gave me a few things to try, and promised to take care of it if needed Can't ready beat that level of service.
  15. Not converted, all the guts are original. I have not touched the internals. I wanted to make sure It would function properly before I committed to internal mods. It is not, so I will not
