  1. Absolutely not. In my opinion I think that Saigas are the closest thing to a real Ak that we can get. Now the pieces of junk that Century Arms put out are a joke.
  2. I was at the gun store yesterday and they got in some TGI AMD-65 rifles with the FEG Hungry receivers. The fit and finish on these guns were outstanding. Upon field stripping the rifle the inner workings were top notch as well. My question is does any one have any experience with the TGI AMD-65 or and of TGI's other AK rifles?
  3. Yeah, I agree I don't know what your gunsmith done but I've never had that much trouble. Agp mags are in my opinion the best mags you can get for the saiga 12. I only use Surefire mags in rifles.
  4. I haven't bought any high cap mags. I got the factory 5 rounders for $15 each off of a friend of mine that has his FFl
  5. Nothin' fancy about this conversion but it's set up just the way that I like It.
  6. I used a CAA ak-47 6-position tube. I got mine at www.carolinashooterssupply.com they run $80
  7. My Saiga .223 conversion - Tapco forend (free floated with a custom made barrel pin) - Tapco Saw grip (which seems to be most everyones choice when it comes to converting a Saiga) - CAA 6 position collapsable tube - Magpul MOE stock Note: for the magazines instead of putting on a bullet guide my buddy suggested welding a raised metal piece on the front of a standard ak mag like the Surefire mags have.
  8. Here's my Saiga .223 - Tapco forend (free floated a custom made barrel pin) - Tapco Saw pistol grip - Tapco G2 trigger - CAA 6 position tube - Magpul moe collapsible stock
  9. Saiga 223 converted by me. Has a Tapco trigger group, pistol grip, forend and stock. I refinished it in aluma hyde. I usually use duracoat but I wanted to try something different this time. It no longer has the Tapco stock as pictured, I have bought one of the new CAA aluminum tubes for Ak's and I'm gonna use a ar-15 buttstock from now on.
  10. "DON'T BE SCARED" lol. It's not that hard at all. All of the cuts on the receiver are already done for you. It's simply a matter grinding off the rivets, removing the old junk and putting the new junk in. I'm new on this forum but I have dealt with saigas for quite some time now and let me warn you, once you do one you can't stop. There addictive to convert. Just jump right in and go for it. Good LUCK
