  1. I really don't know, I used 3/16th plug holes, I opened up the holes with a 3/16th drill bit then popped them in
  2. it compromised the structural integrity of the receiver just as much as the big opening called the mag well don't know who makes them, but I found them at the speciality draws in LOWES
  3. You must be thinking of flat plastic plugs, they do make plastic plugs that look excatly like rivit heads. the thing about using allen head screws is that you have to get the holes tapped for the screws, then there is the issue with that allen hole. the thing with welding up the holes, is you will put more money into it not to mention the wait, welding up the hole and then the refinish job. guess it's a matter of what you want to do, to each his own. for me 2 dollars for plastic plugs and 4 minutes work vs. having the hole welding up then paying someone to refinish it along with
  4. IMO you are going overboard with that concept, there is no need to tig weld the trigger guard. what I did was to follow Moe Zambeak instuctions (link below), and modified the existing trigger guard. Moe's instructions are very detailed with pictures, it was so easy even I could do it, with just very basic hand tools, no machine shop is needed, I am not in anyway mechanically inclined and I was able to pull it off without screwing it up. http://forum.saiga-12.com/index.php?showtopic=40886
  5. Who cares, anyway? You don't even use those pins, post-conversion. besides that, you are going to have to open up those holes anyways, to install a 3/16th inch hole plug.
  6. thanks guys :)/ it was driving me crazy trying to index this brake
  7. so I bought a CHAOS brake, screwed it onto the barrel all the way in, the thing will not index. instead of the large hole posioned at the top, it's on the bottom. which I know isn't right, being it's a brake it should be at the top. I tried differnt angle postions and screwed it on, but the hole always ends up at the bottom. what I am doing wrong?
  8. can she be put on the end of a shotgun muzzle? thanks guys, I didn't know there was a 74 brake for a S12. I know that a 74 brake makes a heck of a lot of noise, I like to put that on my SBR 74U. makes a heck of loud noise that has people on the range stop shooting and to see if a firearm blew up, and the fire coming from the sides and front is impressive as well. but like you said, it's a different firearm, so I'm also wondering if it will increase the noise level.
  9. got a S12, this isn't my first venture into the AK world, have 6 others. I took it out and shot it to make sure it function perfectly before I do any modifications to it, ran like a champ, ate buck, low brass and 3inch magnum. I plan on going "old school" with it, by move the triger forward to put a pistol grip and a regular AK stock on it and the AK FSB on it. not going to go overboard with it. I looked at the different muzzle devices that are out there, and I want something that will make it sound even louder, the louder the better. so is there any perticular one that will make the
