I drilled one to .390 and opened the top 2 chamber holes from 1/8" to 9/64". Thanks.

I'm going to sell this nice faceted brake, and I just bought a used Bulgy on another forum, and I'll drill that to 3/8. The clearance is small enough on that brake in the photos that the neck of the case around the bullet base stops it from going further....

I hate to drill an almost-new Russian faceted brake. If that's the solution I may trade down for a cheaper Bulgarian brake and drill it. Thanks Jetmech.

I have an extra faceted AK74 brake that I was going to use on a Draco. The brake seems like a tight fit for the 7.62 round though. The front-most hole seems to be big enough, but the inner hole through which the bullet passes is a squeeze- the bullet barely makes it through, and is stopped by the thickness of the jacket around it, so not much clearance. It looks like it would have to be aligned laser-perfect or it'd scrub copper. Should I get another brake? Or forget braking the Draco? Any help is much appreciated.

Very nice. There's some awesome coloring in that lower handguard. I'm refinishing an upper HG that I got from Trueno, a member on another board. I found some uppers that match, sort of a gold/red color, but they're $35, and I'm over budget as it is.....

Thanks! I used amber shellac after sanding a bit to reveal the red cast to the wood/adhesives.

Same exact thing happened to me, as far as your MAA experience (there were 9 in stock when I ordered, too) and losing out on other guns for sale, like CSS's last one. The only difference is I'm still trying to find one. :\ Good luck the remaining for sale are going for $500+. I seriously doubt we will see the same 5.45 Saiga when it returns. Ok, fear-spreader, why do you think they would change it?

I ran a link of chain through the cleaning rod hole. Thanks to YWHIC-AccessoryArms for the idea. I read your post, and got the cleaning rod from the garage, the one that came with the Saiga. It's too long, which is good for cleaning, but doesn't fit under the barrel. I was looking, saw the hole in the bayonet lug, perfect! Dremel, cut-off wheel, chain, and the sling is back on.

I made a deal today for a Bulgy lower HG ret on another forum.... should ship soon. I would mount a swivel on this retainer, but....it's aluminum. And I'm afraid that it would be too much strain, and the weak point on it looks to be where the top of the capscrew sits- very thin- or the threads might strip in the aluminum. It seems plenty strong for what it's meant to do, but seems a bit flimsy to hang weight off it. If it was steel...... {hint hint} I didn't realize it was aluminum when I bought it.
