  1. Awesome videos and very educational! Though the camera man SUCKS bigtime...and it does piss me off that they keep on advertising the hell out of their cleaning products....gotta buy me some bore tech lol. thanks leadslinger for the link. This reinforced my stand on cleaning from muzzle to chamber in AK style rifles. Plus i came out with added knowledge on how to clean my firearms even better! I tried searching on youtube how people cleaned their AK's...and NOT ONE of them cleaned it from the muzzle to chamber....this has made me think twice about following those so called "educational" vid
  2. Im soon getting a muzzle guide...should have done so sooner. I dont think cleaning from the muzzle to the chamber will affect the AK barrel in any shape or form. I clean my M1A from muzzle to chamber (cant do it any other way lol) and that weapon system (not mines in particular, although it is accurate for a m1a with no mods at all) is one of the most accurate semi auto .308 rifles in existence. So if the only way to clean an m14/m1a is from the muzzle to the chamber....whats the difference between a non chromed line m1a/m14 barrel to a chromed lined AK barrel? I would think the chrome lin
  3. So i have been carefully cleaning my Saiga barrel from muzzle to the bore all this time. But i have seen people do it from the bore to the muzzle...i think most people do it that way. I know that you always want to clean a barrel from bore to muzzle whenever possible but the cleaning rod does not fit completely inline with the barrel, so my thinking was that careful cleaning from the muzzle to the bore was better. I mean, wouldn't you slowly wear the 6 oclock of the barrel by cleaning it from the bore to the muzzle since thats where most of the pressure is? Im i wrong in thinking
  4. Nice PSL! Im looking for one exactly at this moment! too bad most online gun stores are out of stock.....i wonder if its a sudden urge of people buying the rifle or it always goes in and out of stock like this. How is the accuracy on it when it had no modifications made? and how is the accuracy now with the 20 inch barrel?
  5. Thanks for the responses. Guess i will test fire the rifle when i get some time and see if anything seems off. Although it does irk me that the gas block is not completely centered though lol. Now the question is whether i should put a bullet guide or not.....I live in the fine state of Kalifornia so im stuck with 10 rnd mags...so i really gain nothing by using real AK mags. I was stupid enough to buy the arsenal mag at kvar without knowing if it would fit. I am pretty happy with the surefire mag...never has failed me. Although im sure the arsenal mag is of higher quality....i just
  6. Hi guys, I started this thread in the tech section a couple of days ago but no one seems to know....as i have not gotten any responses yet. So maybe i will get a little better luck here. This is the original thread Saiga 7.62x39 canted gas block please feel free to take a look Not trying to spam the forums, if double posting is prohibited, i will erase this post. Any information would be useful...i would be happy if anyone who still has the original gas block in their saiga chime in if their gas block is a little canted to the left. One more question: Does the arsenal plum
  7. So i've replaced the original saiga gas block with a bulgarian one...but the gas block seems to be canted to the left slightly. So you guys could picture it, i would say its about 11:50 instead of 12 oclock. It strikes me as weird because i aligned the gas block exactly where the original nudge in the barrel is in. I didnt really pay attention if the original gas block was canted as i never took notice. I would imagine that the nudge in the barrel was precision made in the factory. The pin would not go into the nudge when i completely centered the gas block. I actually helped my fr
  8. one of those cheap bolt on ones i got from carolinas shooting supplies....which i plan on changing to an original AK one if i ever change the FSB...might even change the gas chamber while im at, it if money allows it.
  9. not to hijack the thread but if i plan on only using 10 round mags...whats the point of the bullet guide for me? if you must know i live in Kalifornia...no regular cap magazines for me Well that does suck . . . I would personally be of the opinion that if you are limited to 10 round mags there would be no point in a bullet guide. Just get a bunch of 10 round mags. But can't you put on one of those Monsterman grips or use a mag release that requires the use of a tool for mag removal? Or something? Or you just don't want to go that way . . . Hell, I don't know, I'm in Texas!

  11. Hi guys, I picked up my Saiga last week, shot 100 rounds of wolf black box through it without a hitch and yesterday i started my conversion. I still need to grind the hammer a little and put the BHO which im planning to do today and put hole plugs. But i had a few questions before i can completely finish the conversion. I have read someone using http://www.duplicolor.com/products/wheel.html this paint to paint their Saigas. But how do you paint it? do i need to remove the old paint from the receiver or do i just paint it on top of the old paint? I want something that matches close
  12. I'd advise using water rather then windex. Windex contains ammonia that eats at the chrome lining in the barrel. And the only benefit is from the water in it. Corrosive ammo only means that when fired the primers leave a salt residue. Rust forms with water, the salt only gathers the water from the air around it. So if you live in a very dry area you almost don't need to clean it. If your going to put water on a salted rifle be sure to use enough to wash the salts away. So will i need to water all the parts inside the receiver as well? then dry and relube it? Edit-i live
  13. Just to check if i understood correctly so i just spray hot water (with a sprayer thing) on the entire gun? then followed by bore snake dipped in hot water and then hoppes (copper solvent) on the barrel only or do i try to clean the inside of the receiver (fcg and all the other stuff inside the gun) with hoppes? thanks
  14. Well guys i checked and this is definitely a good price for the ammo....but is corrosive. How do people clean their guns after wards? A short list of the cleaning products and a bit of procedures would help me a lot. Thanks.
  15. Wow this must be the nicest AK i have ever seen. Anyone know how to get that type of finish on the wood? and also what kind of tint is this that was used?
