The dust cover could be done, like the verp 12ga. With a little of Tony's magic. And I promise they would like it better than the side mount.

With most other ak types I agree. They are unsturdy and the cover moves around, messing up sights. But the saiga 12 has a heavy, well fitting cover. Try moving it around with your hand and then compare to a typical ak cover. Plus with Tony's magic. Reason I favor this for the swat is because it is more what they are used to. Like the M4 A3 top rails. They probably want the car stock for the same reason, because they are used to it. I just figured it would keep there weapon systems closer to same. Add Jeric's lrbho! If I was you, I would include a dust cover with a top rail also. In my opinion the side mounts are cumbersome. It would be a shame to lose the contract over a crappy ass side mount. Swat likes to be nice and tight. Top rail with a eotech! Goes right to the top, not off the side, up the side and float over the top.

I have an ak under-folder and it has some play in it both collapsed and extended. Is there any way to take the play out of it?

Maybe a big order got cancelled or the material lot was overestimated and there was enough for more. It was down to 42 last night after I purchased three units. Can't wait for an update! I dropped it down to 45 after I order 20 more. I had already ordered 10 a few days ago. It's not material or orders getting canceled. It's a sales tactic. Just like the "slashed $65 market price". What market? There is no 10rd market to say that. The listed quantity got to low and the seller didn't want people to think that they couldn't order the dealer special 100 amount. I'm not complanning.

What is really crazy is he is on the run, and get this, he just left me positive feedback for our transaction yesterday!!!! I just received a response to my questions. 1. Don't know who did the conversion 2. barrel length 10.5" 3. Selling the parts because you have no use for them 4. Barrel is threaded at muzzle I also asked if it cycled and will post the response when I get it. Maybe it does work. Someone should ask Tony his opinion.

I saw it to. I noticed the gas block is still int the original position. It isn't moved back like Tromix's does. This is probably where the converter went wrong. I asked him a bunch of questions a couple days ago with no response.

.308 mag is new and saiga-12 mags are slightly used and in great shape. $42 each shipped. Buy all five mags for $195 shipped.

Barrel length is fine, as previously stated. The choke is cylinder (0,0). Your gun has RAAC=Russian American Arms Co. and EAA has been struck out. Far as I know Remington has nothing to do with Saigas which are produced by Izhmash in Russia, and the other calibers are still being produced there. Slugs are safe, believe at least non-saboted ones. Other folks can correct me on saboted ones. Remington bought out EAA and dropped all Saiga's from the import list. This is why there was none coming in intill RAA picked the Saiga's up.

I just received a news letter from Saiga Solution that stated they were still working on the 10rd metal mag. As far as they say, the mag is still on.

I would hate to live with the fears some of you have. It seems like to much barroom talk. Some of you guys really need to get informed with the facts and not speculation. And some that have spoken need to go back and question everything they "think" they know. Relax!!!

I got the pic off of this forum somewhere. My friend doesn't want to reveal himself as the designer, so I assume he doesn't want to do the conversions either. He said he would update me with a tutorial to post though. He is fine tuning the feed angle for proper feed. Truly though, It looks like a conversion most could do. I'll keep you all posted. I still have 13 USAS mags but haven't decided if I want to undertake the converting task before selling them. And here is a link to the auction listing. My friend has completed his mag and it looks great!!! It hold 12rds I believe. It is not my place to give away his design and effort. Although the procedure doesn't seem that hard. I suggested he offer the service for sale for the less crafty. Maybe he will reveal himself.

One thing I've learned over the last year of looking for USAS info, it's a pretty unusual word. Thus, if you search USAS here, you'll see all that's been written (and it's not too much). And you won't like the results. I could tell you the consensus, but then you'd hate me, not the magz .... Welcome. Hope you aren't one who bought one of those mags on the auction sites where he claimed "easily convertable" and showed a pic .... I was the guy selling them on the auctions. I didn't list "easily convertable" anywhere on the listing and told everyone that asked that
