The forearm removed is to accommodate a weaver type accessory mount. I have a vertical grip on when not target shooting. I don't believe removing the forearm would add to better accuracy IMO. However, I never compared it on or off.

Alleycat, take the mag apart. Trim off the two post or stops on the bottom until you can add two more rounds. Some even cut the spring as well. I did not have to. It works and 10 plus one in the chamber is plenty for the mighty Saiga .308.

Better jump on it for that price!!
